Verizon Droid Bionic supports AVCTP Bluetooth...will the car?

I know this phone is still a couple days from release, but am wondering if anyone plans on getting it and seeing if streaming bluetooth audio will also send the information (like USB does for the iPhone)?

There is rumor that the iPhone 5 will also support this with iOS5 software. It would be nice to have some options.

I'm also wondering if it will require a certain version of the PDIM software. Mine is DA/DX...

I'm planning on getting the phone, and my car should be getting DB/DD as I type this, so I'll let you know if it works, provided the dealer puts the right part in the car.

Considering that GM still can't get the basic functionality of the PDIM figured out, I would highly doubt that this is going to work...

Just picked up my car, ended up with DA/Dx. Needless to say, it's going back again... I'll still try it when I get the phone with the version that I have.

Got the phone, and got my car updated to DB/DD. 1st attempt to pair with GMMusicConnect failed to detect. I'm going to try again when I get home and I'll keep you posted.

Sounds a bit odd. Hopefully it will work when you get home and have a chance to play with it more...

Finally got the Bionic paired with GMMusicConnect (it only took a half hour to get it to pair) and once i started streaming, the car still only displays my device name. I think that it is a safe bet that GM is not supporting the profile.

Well that stinks... guess I'll be looking into aftermarket options. Thanks for updating us though!

That sucks. I got the Bionic today as well, but haven't paired it to my Camaro yet, badass phone though!

I did finally get it to pair. I'm not sure what I was doing wrong, but it took me about 30 minutes or trying, trying again, trying again, etc... Might have been a timing thing between the phone's search and the GMMusicConnect's broadcast.

The only thing that doesn't seem to work with the BT pairing is the info about what is being played is not transferred to the screen, which was what I was testing earlier. Playing audio and skipping tracks seems to work fine, or at least as well as it did with my previous phone.

Is it supposed to display the audio info? The car has only displayed the phone name/model number from Blackberry Curve to my new Samsung Charge.

That's what we were trying to find out. New phones that are coming out support the AVTCP protocol that allows this but both the sending unit (phone) and receiving unit (in this case, stereo) have to support it. It does not look like our radios do.

On a slightly different note, I found this article to be interesting...

Didn't have any problems pairing the Bionic and the vehicle, but sometimes I would have to toggle the bluetooth on my phone before it would sync once turning the car on. Then I deleted my old phone from the car's list of devices and now it syncs once I turn the car on.

Moral of the story: delete unnecessary devices...

Does anyone know if the pdim supports the bionic via the usb port? I am about to bite the bullet on the bionic, but I am curious if it works via usb.
