What brake rotors do you have and recommend for a 2010 SS?

I'm looking to upgrade the brake rotors and pads on my 2010 SS.

My car is not a daily drive but does get driven 1000 miles a month. I drive it very hard when I do take it out, mostly auto-x and some drag racing. My OEM rotors warped in the first 1000 miles. Is slotted better than drilled or should I get rotors with both?

I like the JBA 4000XS and the EBC sport rotors also look good. I don't want to change the calipers or go with a different size rotor.

Granatelli has some very nice and reasonable priced rotors. All 4 for like $500 and they are both cross drilled and slottled. Those are the ones im looking at! My friend has them on his car and they look extremely nice!!!!

If you warped them in the first 1000 miles, yeah you need some good ones!

The Racing Brake 2 piece open slot rotors are about as good as they get for our stock calipers. Two piece construction to save on weight, open slots for cooling and self cleaning. But they come at a price too.

If you are a heavy braker, on and off track, then slotted and dimpled are obviously good to have, but I'd try and stay away from cross-drilled, as I've seen some crack under high stress and heat.

Slap a good pad on there too while your at it to help stop quicker, with less brake time (which builds heat, which warps rotors). We just got a new shipment of Hawk pads in, depending on how much track time you see, the Hawk HP Plus pads may suite you right!

Yes stay away from the cross drilled. A slotted rotor should be your next step.

I'm liking the Granatelli rotors, may order the fronts to try them out during our next auto-x next month. Just need to confirm the price on their web site is for two.

I went with the Brembo slotted rotors with advice from Lingenfelter with Hawk pads.
I road race the car a few times a year and they work great. Don't forget the stainless braided lines while you are at it!!

Could you PM me what you paid for everything and who you purchase the from. Feel free to post here if that's ok. I really want to pull the trigger on this by Monday. I have an auto-x event a month from now and don't know if that's a good place to seat these so they may sit in the garage with the other undone mods anyways.

Are you stock brakes making noise? I would imagine that changing the pads or adding some brake grease should do the trick.

C5 vendor, ImportImage. I ordered from Shawn, he's an awesome guy, very informative. Hotchkis track pack, DBA slotted rotors (4000 series), Hawk HPS pads $2450 (I think) shipped, from Florida. Had the stuff lickety-split.

I shopped. This was a good deal.
