Any CAI that actually improves mileage?

I know when I put a CAI on my now departed Solstice, MPG went up 3 miles per gallon immediately. Has anyone really checked to see if one on a Camaro ACTUALLY GIVES better mileage?

While improving performance is the main objective when adding an air intake system, improved fuel economy is a positive side effect. The improved efficiency that creates more power also improves fuel economy. Of course, this is assuming the car is driven in the same manner after the intake is added.

Thanks.. I noticed a power increase in the Solstice plus the MPG increase. Wasn't sure if anyone got BOTH on a Camaro CAI. I had a Fujita F5 on the Solstice...worked very well...unfortunately, they don't make it for the Camaro. Nice CAI for a reasonable price. Guess I'll spring for a different one soon. (to keep peace in the family, after all I spent on the Camaro, I have to try and justify it besides power. Easier than sleeping on the sofa.)

I have the V6 with K&N Typhoon. My last average economy, from fill up down to low fuel range was 12.6 mpg. My next mod is to relocate the fuel tank to the roof so an aircraft can meet me on the highway to refuel.

Exactly.
Any mileage gain from a CAI is negligible. Any significant gain is in your head.

I have noticed no significant gain from my CAI. But, on the plus side, there was no mileage drop whatsoever. There's not much you can do for cheap to increase mileage enough that you'd notice. I suppose a set of gears with a crazy overdrive 6th gear could net you noticeably better mileage on the highway, but who would want to do that to a Camaro!

We see anywhere from a 2-4 mpg increase. The biggest determining factor is how you drive the vehicle, but if driven conservatively 2 or 3 mpg is defintley not out of the question with our CAI. Let me know if you have any other questions, I would be happy to help.
