Videos of Kooks 1.875 with cats and a Dynomax Bullet catback

My exhaust is "finished" for now. Thought you guys might like to hear it...for what it's worth, the catback alone sounded quite a bit different, and the drone around 1800 RPM was worse before the addition of headers.

All that's really left to do is cut up the Dynomax X pipe and re-build it (since it is just plain built wrong and doesn't fit the car properly at all), and convert the very short sections of 2.5" pipe immediately behind the Kooks cats to 3"...that's the downfall of going with a catback, and headers/cats that are intended to hook up to the stock catback...but it's going to be very minor cutting/welding to change that, and I don't expect the sound to change at all at that point.

We warmed the car up for a while and let most of the new header smoke go away, but you can still see some in this video...it's just from the goo in the headers that was left over from the bending process.

I'm THRILLED with the fit/quality of the Kooks headers...I had to unhook the rack end of the steering shaft to get the drivers side header in, and I had to remove the dipstick tube to get the stock passenger side manifold out and the new header in...but that was it, didn't remove anything else from the car. My front O2 sensors came right out no problem, one of my rears was factory cross-threaded in though...so I just stuck an old dead wideband in the bung on the new setup for now to plug it up...

I LOVE the sound, the interior noise level is no big deal, and the people on the hands free bluetooth phone say they can't hear it (unless I stand on it).

I let my friend drive it last night so I could hear it...he bumped the rev limiter at the top of second, but you get the idea for the sound.

Sounds tuff. So you're going to cut out where the pipes neck down to connect to run 3" straight through? Good idea, I always try and recomend that for people with 3" catback systems.

Yeah I will...I haven't gotten to it yet, but it'll be an easy job...what I'll probably do since the cats have ball socket flanges, is just cut out the 2.5" section from both the cats and the X, then weld in 3" to make up the difference, and have the cats be a part of the X pipe without any clamps where the OEM ones are now.
