Need peoples input

I am upgrading my cam and Heads from Texas speed. I live in california so I was thinking of a LS9 cam because most likely it would pass smog However, I notived Texas speed offers the edelbrcok 2 piece timing cover and was wondering if i installed it how many hours a shop would charge o swap cams later when I need a smog. This way I could go with their 225/230 617/612 cam input from fellow members would be great

I know carb rules bite. However, I know the LS9 cam is close to stock and gains about 20HP. I was told by 2015 teh California smog for 2010 and higher will use the the ODB port and not tailpipe so if it sounds mostly stock and does nto set off sensors should be able to squeeeze by well I hope
