*Video* ECS Supercharger Kit - Synergy Green SS

This is a 2SS Synergy Green vehicle from one of our client's. The car is not even broken in yet, it came to us with 110 miles! We were asked to keep it real conservative considering the miles. The brackets look awesome with the Synergy Green vehicle!

It is bone stock besides our supercharger kit.

You can read more about our supercharging system featuring the ECS/Paxton Novi 1500 head units.

Stick.. We did not dyno the car beforehand but we usually see 355-365rwhp out of them stock. So a gain of 200rwhp on a 110 mile car, not bad

Matt - you guys seem to do alot of centrifugals vice the twin screws...why the preferences towards the centrifugals? What are you gaining and what are you sacrificing?

With our restrictor plate design that comes with an ECS kit, we get close to the low end of a roots, with the top end of a centri. A roots will make more tq from 2k to 3k at best, but not by much and then the centri just takes over on tq and hp from there.

The nice part of the centri's is how expandable they are down the line. Our base kit can make 800rwhp with just removing the restrictor plate on a car with our blower cam, meth, and headers. No pulley or belt changes necessary.

Doug - thanks for the response, appreciate the info you bring to the table.

Couple follow on questions - how is the restrictor plate you guys include in your package creating the low end torque seen with the PDs and what's the typical delta, all things considered? What would we see if the air flow wasn't restricted? Torque, or the appearance of, seems to be paramount to getting these 2 ton Camaros moving and moving quick...(if you haven't gathered, I'm trying to do some homework for perhaps some FI work in the future with ECS, after enjoying the N/A work you guys are currently doing.)

5thgencamaro: We use the restrictor plate design to keep maximum low end boost (Torque) because of the smaller pulley, but we restrict boost up top if you do not have methanol/cam/etc. work done. We only like to push the stock LS3's with no meth into the 600 range. Past that we recommend methanol that will take you to the 700'ish. Then throw in the big blower cam and you're 800++ to the tire.

But for comparison sake we will take our stock kit vs magnacharger/SLP stock kit. Both have ARH LT 1 7/8" headers with high-flow cats on them.

Matt - good looking numbers and thanks for the information. Is the 600s number on a more or less stock long block?

The crux of my question was more the how the restrictor plate facilitated the numbers. Does the design of the restrictor plate limit the air flow in the lower RPM range? In other words, how does it work?

Also, does the centri play well with the Devil cam?

It limits air flow all around.. The best part of using the restrictor plate is that you can use the smaller pulley, keep peak torque lower in the band, and then restrict horsepower for motor capabilities.
