RWHP number? Cammed L99 ?

What are options of rwhp after the cam swap with the conversion? Any one have a good idea? Car pulled 370 with the modes listed below. I was thinking 460 rwhp? That's what I told my Dad I think is what is going to happen? Still waiting on the Intake and he's so ready to get the rest of the parts. Has not been to a race since June I think. He is wanting to get this taken care of.

you pulled 370 with 2" headers? Are they long tubes?

EDIT: I see that you're in Erie PA. By any chance did you go to Power House Automotive for your dyno?

EDIT #2: Looking at your [your dad's] mods I am willing to bet money that you went to Power House

Been there before with Diablo lew tune and was 319 rwhp, for dyno pulls. No headers, just CAI and Tune. Go to IPS now

Don't trust that Dyno. I pulled 377 on it a week ago and was flipping out. Ted Jannetty called me up and explained to me how some dynos are "stingier" than others. Steve (owner of Power House) told me after my 3rd pull that his dyno was "stingy". Ted said to correct the number by 10%, and that put me at 415. Which I can live with, but I want to see it on a dyno before I'll be happy.

He only was at Power House once, last summer just for Pulls... Car is Tuned by IPS and the 370 rwhp is from IPS dyno.

Meadville, PA

yes, IPS in Ohio. That is where it is tuned now, going back for the cam install and retune.

IPS told us the Mustang dyno's read lower and the car was right where it should be. It was over 100 in the shop that day, was 95 outside. I never added any % to the 370 but 10% would sound better, lol.

Like I said, I'm not going to fully believe it until I see 415 on a dyno (not that 415 is my goal or anything - off the record I really want 450).

The only important thing is the differential - before and after numbers. Get a percentage increase and see how that compares.

Ha! I would cry if I dynoed less than 300.

Then I would sue the dyno owners for emotional distress.

It looks like you are installing a Yank 3600 at the same time as the cam. Although they work great for improving acceleration,1/4 mile times and a must for driveability with a VVT-3 cam. A converter will show a loss on the dyno in the 15-25 rwhp range. The VVT-3 cam will gain 70 maybe 80 rwhp. A gain of 90rwhp seems way on the high side to me my guess would be in the 50-60 rwhp range.
Using my set up as an example.I was hoping to gain 70-80 rwhp when I did the VVT-3 cam,PRC ported heads and Yank 3200.I figured I would gain 70-80rwhp from the cam but the heads and converter would off set each other meaning I would loss 20rwhp with the converter and gain 20rwhp with the heads. I went from 365-440 a gain of 75rwhp.I hope that made sense.

Well I am at 336 with close to what you have but the longtubes. I have a Ted tune. So 370 with headers would be about right. I was Dyno'd down in Fort Walton Beach on a Dynojet.

Set your goal about 420-430 RWHP with cam and underdrive.

Ported heads and higher compression might get you closer to 440-450

460 Not without a real radical built.

Good Luck with your build.

When you say, 70-80 with the VVT-3, do you mean with the PRC heads?

I'm doing the VVT-3 without heads. With the mods in my sig (esp. 3200 TC), I'm at 375 before I go into the cam install. I also have the electric water pump going in today (so maybe 385 going into the install).

Ok, sounds better then less then 400 rwhp. I think he will be happy if his 1/4 time drops pretty good.

If you already have the TC installed and dynoed I would expect you to pick up 70-80 rwhp. A guy on here that already had a TC installed picked up 76rwhp with the VVT-3 cam, If i remember he dynoed at 356 with the TC and 432 with just adding the VVT-3 cam.
