you have to cut off the old mufflers...welding is always the best way, but you can use the clamps that come with it if you want...mine was fairly easy, but I had the exhaust off since I was putting on long tubes too...it made it easy for me to cut

Clamps are fine.

I installed mine, in my garage, with just jack stands. No sweat really. Having a saws-all with a good blade makes cutting off the old ones easy. Yeah. Welding is preferred. If you have one. I used the clamps and have had no issues with them shifting or twisting. It took me less than an hour.

The sound is great too. You'll love them!

Let me know what you think of them. I'm on the fence when it comes to exhaust.

Easy install. Ramps, new Saws all (good excuse to go buy one). They were off in less than a minute. New ones one shortly after.

2 weeks later I went to MRT and had them weld them on.

18 months later still LOVE the sound. Can't get enough of this great sounding system. Always throttling up to hear it growl.

blackbee

blackbee, on your D/t shorty headers. i was about to buy them and then the guy steered me away.. i live in pa and he said its the same as cali... i have inspection and emission. no on my emission they only do the gas cap test, and mdb2 test. i think thats right, and he said as long as the headers dont throw up CEL, then i will be fine to pass. does this sound correct?
i will be welding my DT headers to the muffler, is this what you did to pass?

Let me know what you think when you get them installed. I can't decide v1 or v2, leaning towards v2 but I want people to know that's an $500 aftermarket exhaust when idling.

BMTGIE .. i actually was saying the same thing..
I talked to there sales rep, and he explained to me, do you want rasp, or do you want close to v8 rumble.
he said the v1 has a rasp and the v8 is a roar. he said you really cant tell a difference at idle, but if he had to choose it would be the v2.. so i hope that helps?

"or do you want close to v8 rumble"

Really? Its a V6 why do people say this. Be proud of a V6 and how it sounds. I have V1.0 it does not have a rasp, and the sound is pretty darn low. Does it sound like a V8 no, will it no. Why is that, well it has 6 cylinders. From all I have read / watch videos now own, the only difference is the V2 has less drone. Is the V2 deeper, well I guess it could be based on CAI and Exhaust set up.

My set up is a Vararam intake with MRT V1.0 it is pretty low / loud. At times it can set off alarms. Like in the AM going to work wife actually parks her car on the street. So that when I start my car it does not set off her alarm. haha.

Bottom line with either MRT V1 or MRT V2 you cant go wrong.

I did..............nothing to it. Got a saws all. If not good excuse to go buy one. That is what I did. Built my own ramps too. Marked the exhaust per instructions and cut the mufflers off in seconds. Put the MRT's on with clamps. A few weeks later I went to MRT and had them welded into place. Feel free to contact me if you should have any further questions.
