Guys, I'm dealing with some belt slippage so I'm trying to decide between an 8 or 10 rib pulley upgrade kit. Both are ridiculously expensive, but the 10-rib kit is nearly 50% of what I paid for the damn super charger.

Question is, can the 8-rib kit get me down to a 3" pulley without slippage.

That's exactly what's going in mine...Whipple 8 rib kit with a 3" pulley. Out of curiosity how much power are you making now? I ran 700 RWHP on my Whipple without any belt slip.

Yes you can get away with the 3" on the 8 rib setup. Look for another tensioner as well.

I have not dynoed it yet, but I shredded a belt with just a 3.65" pulley

I'm beginning to wonder if it's the Fluidamper pulley I had installed on my new engine that's the culprit.

Let me know if you want to save$ on 8 ribs. Have a bunch of 8 rib billet pulleys.

That would be great Tracy. Do you have enough 8 rib pulleys for all the accessories and the harmonic balancer?

Which kit are you looking at? I ordered the 8-rib kit from Whipple for my build, an it looks like everything but the 3" came from Innovators West. That's actually a good thing because they make some sweet stuff.

The tensioner on my Whipple has been great. I haven't heard of any issues...have you?

OK...so this is ironic. After posting about having no problems with my tensioner, we found out it was cracked when we mounted it to the LSX. ARD built me a custom billet manual tensioner and this thing is sic. Ran it at the track this past weekend and the belt didn't budge.
