I have ls7 heads, random 4.07 pistons, ls7 valvetrain, ls7 intake on an ls3 block. Does that mean I have an ls5.65?

I'm just wondering....with your analogy....what would you call an ls3 if you changed the pistons? Just wondering. If you are trying to insinuate that the ls3 is superior to the L99, then so be it. But...if you think about it....you can have a bigger bump stick in an l99 than an ls3 because the l99 has valve reliefs.

Now that I think about it op, who cares? It's an engine. An engine based on exactly the same architecture. How bout we let you name it.

The only reason I would consider the "conversion" would be to delete DOD...sure it's not an ls3...but who cares? I'd also get a high rise cam and pump some more ponies through my A6...team L99 all the way!

U MAD?

I'm sure most people that say they did a "LS3 conversion" simply mean they have an LS3 style cam now. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say VVT/AFM are the "biggest" difference between an LS3 and L99 not .3 of compression.

Sounds like the OP has LS3 envey. The compression -Thats not a BIG difference... any way I'd like to go a lot lower on the compression Iam at now because I have a Blower. it's the SAME engine...don't sweat the little things.

It is a L99/LS3 Valve Train Conversion, Shortened to LS3 conversion.

No need to be so angry.

OP, I see your from FL... No, that comp rate is not a huge difference.. once I throw a blower on mine I would like a lower rate...We can take my "not a true conversion" L99 with Jannetty's 470 RWHP package to the strip against your "real man's ride" and see how that ends for you?
