need your help 45ers

PROBLEM SOLVED:
(re-cap: wanted to get placement of v-flag restoration part to match the 45th anniversary's emblem on the fender)

Finished product:

******
NOTA BENE
- cut off emblem's original prongs with a roto-zip (grinding tip)
- over the course of 3 days I applied 3 coats of medium gloss automotive enamel clear-coat (wash& prep before each coat)
- *placement of flag was 45mm from the TOP of the, "CAMARO" emblem to the TOP of the v-flag's highest points
- I prepped the fender area by washing, clay barring, Meguir's Scratch X'ing (3 times) and waxing
- before placement I used a 50/50 mix of isopropyl alcohol and water to clean the area (a day after previous step)
- Filled the rear space with 3M heavy-duty double sided tape and used JB Weld automotive formula in the grooves (very little was used bc it spreads like peanut butter.

COSTS:
Emblems: $30
Clear coat spray: $5
JB Weld: $4
3M tape: $2
...had these prior, but
Mother's clay bar kit: $22
Meguir's Scratch X: $13
Ice Wax: $10
Rubbing alcohol: $ 0.99

overall it seems the emblem is within the visual line of the amber side-marker
******
ORIGINAL POST:
i bought the chevy v-flag fender emblem & would like to make the application as close to a factory look as possible.

owners/dealers of 45th anniversary cars, what is the measurement (mm's for precision) of the space between the bottom of your "camaro" letters & the top of the emblem? THANK YOU!

#45ers

I used a photo to estimate the distance is about 3 letters legnths. Each letter in the CAMARO fender emblem is 15mm tall. So from the bottom of the CAMARO emblem to the top of the v-flag is a space of 45 mm

45 mm

about 60 mm

Measuring from the very bottom of the Camaro lettering to the very top of the 45TH emblem, it's 1.25".

If you are looking for full perfection down to the millimeter, I'll bust out my calipers tomorrow.

I thought the crossed Chevy/checkered flags was a Corvette emblem.

There was a sage camaro5 member that put a link to a chevy history page regarding things like the rear black out panel, the v flag , how the bow tie came to be etc. You'd have to search for it...

...to respond though, the V flag is not exclusively vette. Camaro has seen it, Nova, Impala and I think even some Monte's all from the factory

Nova:

Impala: *funny thing: theirs is ahead of the wheel
