Straight Pipes??

I've been wondering for a while now, why don't more people straight pipe the SS? It sounds really good straight piped! Those who got an exhaust system, why did you got that route?

I love the decel. My mileage has dropped 2 per gallon just from listening to the pop.

I made a before and after video of an otherwise fully-stock LS3. Judge for yourself! Personally I love it, and no, it never gets old. If you don't like the decel pops, tune it out, or just give it a bit of gas or shift into neutral.

What ever drone sounds like, it does not bother me at all. I love the humming sound around 2k RPM in 5th gear, is that drone?

Muffler delete was not loud enough for me... added shorty headers and catted midpipes.

I must have very cool neighbors, because they've never said anything to me about it.

I love my muffler delete. Eventually going headers/ATAK catback but until I am ready to say goodbye to my warranty (I'm getting a tune when I do headers) the muffler delete is perfect imho. It does drone around 2k rpm, but like the decel popping, one can adjust their driving to avoid it.

I have gotten a TON of compliments on the sound.

I think I'm gonna go muffler delete route to save cash and make it a little louder on a 1LT.

Best SS I've heard.

It has everything to do with the tone. If you look at the construction of some mufflers, something as simple as putting 1/8" tall weld rings on the inside changes the tone. I had straight pipes(ARH headers, catless x pipe with turndowns) for about a week before my flowmaster outlaw series axle back came in. The outlaws give it a much deeper and more "pleasing" sound.

Exhaust sound as well as ride comfortability are purely subjective. I personally don't like the sound of it either but that's just me.

1 7/8 LT headers, off road mids, straight 3in with x-pipe…. it scared me the first time I revved her up. She used to sound pretty mean with the Flowmaster AT but now she sounds like an all out b*tch!! LOVE IT!!!
