1350 Pinions

Are we ever going to see a standard pinion with a 1350 output option on the stock diff style gearset? Seems silly to use an adapter for a driveshaft when it's really not necessary.

If some one sends us a Factory one (we have had one or order for over 6 months) we will develop a flange mount like we used when we tooled up the 9500rpm balancer. we had done some testing for NASCAR and found some of the best yokes out there were off from center to center. we had tried to use u-bolts yokes when we set up the balancer and trouble with repeatability so we set it up with Flanges (most balancers will only use a flange mount)

On the new cars that have the shafts spin higher than our old muscle cars it very important to get a true centerline, using the flange will not only give a wider mounting surface but it will allow for multiple mounting positions on cars with Harmonic frequency vibrations.

here is a picture of the 4340 mount we make for the GTO

No Problem. I have a second diff compliments of Speedster. I'll hook him up.

We've been making our billet 1350 pinion yokes for the Camaro for over a year now, we sell a bunch of them to driveshaft shops that custom make driveshafts and we also sell them with our driveshafts.
No adapters, you swap the OEM yoke out with our billet pinion yoke and the driveshaft attached right to the pinion yoke just like it should of from the factory.
Our billet pinion yokes are in stock ready to ship.

Pricy, but nice, and what I'm looking for. Might end up with one of those soon, even if it's about $100 more then I think it should be.

It's expensive because there is an extensive amount of precision machine work done, the splines are cut on an EDM wire machine (not broached). It is the most precise machined pinion yoke you can buy. And also the only one on the market right now that doesnt require some sort of adapter or companion flange.

Thanks
Chris

Cut splines are certain more expensive then broached splines, if unnecessary at these power levels. I'll be giving you guys a call before too long, great to have so many good vendors.

For those interested in understanding why we use the Flange please read this
the post is about the Billet aluminum plate we make but we are going to be making
the 4340 mount for the stock rear and our 9" (we have had 3 Strange Engineering pinion yokes bad on the 9" kits so far so its time to fix the problem correctly)

I'm curious what problem you found with the strange yokes. I got their 4340 yoke for my 9".

The center line is not correct from the spline to the u-joint, when the ends that hold the u-joint in center were machined it was not centered correctly (or the spline was done off center). its not only the Strange units, during testing with Joe Gibbs racing we saw it on Mark Williams, Spicer and Neapco. being there is so much machining that goes into this type of a part its hard to keep tolerances. I'm not saying its every one but we see it more and more with the newer cars spinning the shaft faster.

Mine seems to be fine, no vibrations up to about 90. Havn't gone any faster with the new toys installed.

We've never had a single problem with the Strange or Moser pinion yokes. Or ours for that matter.
The big boys run 1350 style billet pinion yokes at every 10.5, outlaw, ADRL and other races with no problems.
It's the way to go if you want the strongest most precise yoke.

Thanks
Chris
