mastmotorsports cam and springs Q's

I just recently bought a stage 2 track package from mastmotorsports.com wich includes a new cam, Duration@ .050 225/231
Lift 602/607, and nitrided valve springs. now i have heard alot of good things from them, but my questions are. Has anyone bought this package before and what they think about it? And i have seen ALOT of people with dual valve springs and does anyone thinks it would be a better investment instead of the ones that it comes with? Im looking at more quality here so speak your mind.

I just had the G6x3 cam installed.... Had Patriot Dual extreme gold springs installed, with titanium retainers and locks.... The second spring might save your engine should the larger fail. Thats why I went with them.

Nice of you to revive the thread.

OP. You need to get a DOD delete if you wish to run duals. Those VVT kits are designed with single*beehive* springs in mind. If you are set on running duals go ahead and do a full LS3 conversion.
A VVT cam and dual springs with stock DOD lifters are a recipe for disaster IMHO.

No problem, that was some time ago. Find a great install shop and tuner. GL

You can do duals with no issues. Thought it came with duals, maybe not.

He's got long tubes (BBK I think, kinda shitty collectors compared to the better name headers) and then an axle back using the stock GM intermediate pipes. I don't know what cold air intake, but it's not stock, and stock heads.

Gwatney performance division here in Ar. has been running the mast stg 2 kit with the provided springs w/o any problems. It's what the service manager there runs in his mast kit on his SS.

I dont think mast would make it a kit with those springs on that cam if they would suspect there may be an issue of failure down the road...they have a good Rep and wouldn't want to tarnish it by throwing in cheap springs.

None the less, dual springs would be added insurance should you run into a valve failure.

Thanks, knowing that other people are running them without issue is comforting. I still havent decided fully which ones to go with but I have plenty of time to figure it out. I havent even touched my car for over a month and probably wont be able to for several more. Im just trying to get as much info as I can before the build actualy starts. Thanks again for everyone who has put in there 2 cents.
