slight surging @ idle

was just wondering if anyone else has this or noticed this.
when im sitting @ idle (at all time from start up to an hour after driving) i noticed a slight surging, enough for the rpm needle look like it boucing.
is this normal? or should i get this checked out.

OH and i have a ROTO-Fab intake and did a muffler delete if that matters, and i already did a fuse pull reset

I experienced it when the car had only 2000Km and i had a hard brake stop before a traffic light .. i freaked out as the car was new and was vibrating and the rpm needle was going up and down a bit .. but then it stopped when driving ... still don't know why it happens ..

Yes, I have this too!!! Just a slight variation in RPM while at idle. My tachometer bounces around 200-300 RPM. I was wondering the same thing...should I get it checked out??? My car has about 4100 miles on it.

Normal guys, I asked the same thing when i first got mine.. The LS3 has a little bit of an aggressive cam in it and that causes a little lope at idle. Should be searchable "LS3 cam" for confirmation if ya need it.

You need a tune to correct this.

Everyone comments on how smooth my tunes run at Idle.

it's normal. Everybody with the LS3 experiences this somewhat. But if your needle is jumping more than a couple hundred RPM, you may have another problem.

A lot of people have also said it goes away with aftermarket plug wires. Its on my to do list this fall after I figure out what I'm doing with my valve covers.

its actually mostly the stock throttle body, if you look at it closely, it has to pivot really far to actually increase throttle. so its the computer jumping throttle alot accounting for the delay in rpm rise. a better tune, or ported throttle body will almost stop it.

Did you get a tune when you did the intake?
