Poll: do you have or want a clear bra on your 5th gen?

I am seriously considering having one installed on my car but don't know if I will like it or not. I love to keep my car clean and polished, and do not put many miles on it... Yet I also worry about chipping up the front end. I hear good things about them from people who have them installed, yet it seems like very few Camaro owners here actually have them on their cars. Just wondering who has one and who does not, and your reasons/recommendations.

I dont have one, but have been interested in one, as well. Not sure if they are worth the cost, though. Can they be installed by me, or will I need to get a professional? Are there brands that I should consider, or not consider?

I got a clear bra (3M) put on right at the start and do not regret it at all. The nose is clean (no chips) and the bugs come off very easily. It was somewhat costly but I am happy I did it. I would definitely have a pro put it on.

I wish I had gotten one when my car was new. Expecially after the drive to and from Arizona for C5FII.

If you get it, and don't like it, you can always have it removed.

But, if you don't get it, and get a bunch of rock chips, you'll be kicking yourself later (like me)

I have the Avery clear bra applied to my front facia, the mirrors, and the gills.
As far as I'm concerned it's the best investment on a $45k car I can think of.
Especially when it's a black one. (g)

Worth every penny. My last car ( 09 Honda accord coupe) looked like the front end was sand blasted, and this was after just one year. It was black too, so it looked even worse.
Made sure the camaro had a bra on before I picked it up.

Those worried about how it looks ect. You can't tell it's on the car till you are close enough to practically touch it. And even then it's not bad.

Any car over 20 grand should seriously come with one stock.

I bought an 05 cobalt used, the front bumper was so rockchipped that when I bought the Camaro I had a clear bra installed on the front bumper and fascia. Very happy with Quality Auto Trim of Spokane, WA.

Note: If you chose to get the paint protection applied to your car, you need to get the clear bra applied first.

just an FYI

Best investment I've done so far. It has already saved my front end with less than 2xxx miles on it.

Thanks for the replies so far...

I have another request to those who have posted they have one on their car... could you post a few close up pics of where the seams are on the front bumper, and how much of the grill area is covered? does the film go all the way to the edge of the grille or just on the flat face of the bumper? Any problems with bugs etching into it, or chips/marks on the bra itself? I would REALLY love to see some photos, as I can't honestly say I've ever even seen a Camaro close up that had one installed.

My only regret is that I waited as long as I did to get it put on. It's costly, but worth it if you're worried about paint chips. I got the Avery film with lifetime warranty on the front fascia, A pillars, mirrors and first few inches of the roof line. Often when I point it out to people, they still can't see the edge. Supposedly, it's most noticeable on a white car, yet still barely visible.

I would like to ask also for anyone who has one.... when a rock does hit it, does it mark up the film with a white spot or mark at all? I know sometimes when you tag a film, it leaves a ding on it...yes, better than paint chip...but would like to hear from some owners that have had it on for a while and how it sustains. Thanks.
