Power shifting you leave the throttle on the floor and quickly engage the clutch while you shift. Quick shifting as you called it would be shifting as you normally would, only faster lol. Also known as Granny shifting or lift shifting.

With the shitty hydralics in our cars powershifting isn't a great idea.

Not to mention the crappy synchronizers. In both the V6 and V8.

Ok now what is double clutching? I am asking because I just drive my car they way I like to drive it. Some punk asked me how I shifted and started naming off terms and I said to him kid I don't know what you are talking about, I just drive. Then he wanted to race cuz he thought his accord could take my SS......That was when I laughed hysterically at him and said ok. Maybe he was joking because he didnt follow me out to the street.

Nevermind. I was looking through some other threads that were talking about the 2nd gear grind issue and somebody mentioned double clutching and answered my question for that. Stupid and useless. Kids these days. They need to drive their own car and not worry about how someone else might be shifting and still stomping their import into the ground.

Double clutching is pushing the clutch in, put the trans in neutral, let the clutch out, push it back in and select the next gear.

I would think it would be a waste of time if you were racing. Too much thought and effort in my opinion. If Vin Diesel says that's how it should be done the television doesn't lie. I guess I will start double clutching now. (sarcasm)

One day when I grow up I too will be like Vin Diesel.

Double clutching was/is used w/ transmissions w/ straight cut gears (think 18 wheelers & very old cars) Synchros eliminated the need to do this.
