BBK Cold Air Induction?

Has anyone used BBK's Cold Air Induction?

It seems to me that it gives the same amount of RWHP as many of its competitors; 15 rwhp according to the site

Ideas? Thoughts Anyone?

*It doesn't seem to be too popular around here

I tested one out for Hypertech and it was ok. It looks nice and is shiney. We didn't dyno it, just checked it for FT changes, but I highly doubt they gain anywhere near 15rwhp. I'd put in in the same boat with K&N in the 5-8 hp range. It does fit well and doesn't affect your FT's in a negative way. In case you haven't learned yet, NEVER trust manufacturer claims, unless they've been backed up by independent testing. Seeing that they've been out for nearly 2yrs now and no one is running one, that should be a big clue.

Do a search for the Jannetty CAI test. There are 2 so make sure you look at the second one, as it has more CAI's that were tested.

I would recommend a Roto-Fab or a Cold Air Inductions over it.

i have the bbk cold air intake for the v8, and i love the sound of it. it does give me more gas milage, but not much horsepower. then again i didnt really care for the hp gains, only the cosmetics/sound/gas milage. over all its good for the price, but if you have the extra money get a rotofab or CAI's cold air intake

Question? So what is the difference with BBK and Roto Fab and C. A. I.? Is it the tube or the filter? Is it the heat shield? Shape of the tube size of filter?

Thanks

mostly, the size of the tube/ the materials for the tube. the filter doesnt really matter, as long as u clean it once in a while. another thing that comes into play is the throttle body which is in between the intake and the intake manifold.the heat shield also makes a difference because it kind of blocks out most of the hot air from the engine, therefore letting cold air come into the filter from the grille in the front.

I can't speak for the others, but here is what we offer. Overall I would say that our system has the biggest design differences in comparision to other intakes.

Cold Air Inductions, Inc. intake systems benefits:

: Tig welded aluminum air box (high luster finish reflects radiant heat)

: Insulated air box (this adding another layer of thermal (convection) protection)

: Aluminum lid with stainless steel ¼ turn fasteners (fast filter removal)

: Viewing window for fast easy filter inspection.

: High Luster ceramic coated intake tube (coated inside and out, yet another layer of thermal protection)

: Smooth bore (88.9 mm) intake tube construction (this minimizes bends and restrictions within the system)

: 8” V-stack air filter with built in velocity stack (helps reduce turbulence for truer MAF reading)

: 8 layer air filter (maximizing filtration for prolonged engine life

: LIFETIME WARRANTY

We have sold thousands of intakes, have thousands of happy customers, and incorporate design features that make our system a true Cold Air Intake. We see great #’s on the Dyno as well as the track, and can keep our intake temps within 2 degrees of ambient air due to our design features.

Check out these links as well:

Let me know if you have any questions, I would be happy to help!!

I've had my BBK for about a year or so. It sounds great. I've not redynoed it since putting it on but it feels more responsive. Plus it looks sweet.

Found a link to Super Chevy Magazine where they installed and tested BBK's stuff. They picked up around 11hp and 5ft/lbs with the intake.
