CAI and ported throttle body question

Hey guys, I have a vmaxx ported throttle body and cold air inductions CAI without any kind of tune. I haven't thrown any codes or anything but am concerned about running too lean. Should I be worried about this? I just dont want to be doing any damage to the engine. Thanks!

No worries as far as damage. The ECM canadjust and learn for the extra flow, and in the event it may go lean the knock sensors pick up any detonation and pull timing so quick you never know its happening. That said, a tune would really make the most of the mods.

He nailed it. But tunes really wake these beasts up. Especially if you have the L99

Trust me, you need a tune. I totally screwed my tune with headers and cam, underdrive pulley. all was good then i added a Vmaxx a couple weeks ago and am installing a procharger this weekend.

My tuners ran the car for a baseline and the Vmaxx really screwed the fuels in the original tune. I lost 40 RWHP due to the increased airflow.

My tuner knows his shit and its evident from the numbers. Maybe adding a TB to a stock motor wont make much difference but on my motor it did. thanks to my tuner all will be even better.

Let's agree to disagree. You had a bunch of bolt ons, the OP just has a CAI. He really doesn't need a tune. Would a tune help? Yes, but it's not needed.

Yeah, with the factory tune still installed, there is no need to get it tuned with a VMAX, CAI, exhaust, or any combination thereof. The stock tune is far enough off that it will accommodate for these minor mods. A tune would be helpful, yes, but not needed.

If you are already tuned, that tune (if done right) is exact to your car, and the mods it had at the time it was tuned. Any mods after this tune could potentially drastically change everything, and would then be highly advisable to retune, or at least have it checked.
