stainless works exhaust - any drone or rasp?

I'm stuck between the solo and the stainless works exhausts. At idle, I like the stainless eureka better. The solo sounds a bit better over 3k.

But I haven't been able to find many comments about hour the stainless works sounds in cabin while driving in the 1,800 to 2,000 range.

Anyone with the SW have any comments?

Drone is a V6 bad habit at 1500 to 2000 RPM.

I think that Corsa will be a good option if you are looking for a quite exhaust!

+1 and rasp is a symptom of a V6 also, especially when the pipes are still cold. On mine it's pretty nasty at high RPMs for the first few miles, but then once it gets hot, the rasp is almost completely gone. And drone is so subjective. What could be unbearable to one person might be quiet to another. Probably the quietest one is the Corsa in terms of drone.

I'm not looking for a quiet exhaust. I'm looking for a decent review from someone who has it. I like the sound. But there's only the videos produced by the manufacture. I'm thinking I might get the SW and weld on the solo j pipes. But I want to hear from current owners first.

So no one has the SW exhaust?

Right now I'm planning on this exhaust, but I was hoping for at least one personal review on it.

Just a quick bump to see if anyone has ever installed this exhaust. I emailed SW and asked about the system. Even offered to do a full write-up and review if they would make a deal, just to see how it sounded in person.

Their response was that a Chevy dealer in town installed it in every V6 they sold and had never had a single complaint. And since they were selling well, they didn't think they needed any extra press/reviews.

I'm going to install an exhaust in the next month (tired of the stock sound), so it's time to make a decision. This is my favorite sound for idle. But haven't heard a good example of a drive by or a hard acceleration.

Anyone got it??

I think the drone is hard to avoid at 1500-2000 rpms, although there is some evidence the Jpipes help. I went almost 100 percent tap shift (CFD) and at slower speed I keep it in 5th gear and have very little drone. In my opinion gm made this car get to 6th gear very quickly for MPG reasons and unless you are traveling over 55 mph it doesn't need to be in 6th. Not sure this is what you were looking for in an answer, just saying there are other ways to avoid drone at least with an auto tranny.

I had the Solo with J-pipes installed yesterday and it sounds AWESOME. No rasp at all, and virtually drone free throughout the 1500-2200 RPM range. I don't think there's a deeper, more refined system out there!

Can't speak to the SW catback but I do have SW 1 3/4" LT's and after screwing around with SOLO's Mach X with J-Pipes which had certain aspects I liked very much and others that I did not, I sold it to another forum member and bought an ARK DT-S.

The other forum member who I sold it to only used the axleback (J-Pipe) portions of the SOLO exhaust. He at first was surprised by the sound and how loud it was and said it sounded like nothing he's ever heard before. After a few days of adjusting the J-Pipes he sold it to someone else-it was just too loud. I believe he mated the J-Pipe sections to a midpipe with Magnaflow's perforated X-Pipe. He said the back end felt like it was going to vibrate clear off.

Going off that I don't think it's a good idea to mix SOLO's J-Pipe axlebacks with other exhaust components. I'm sure some people are growing weary of me saying this but OP you really should just look into the ARK DT-S catback. You want nice beautiful sound with out rasp or drone?
Here is your exhaust. vvvvvvv

I really doesn't get any better than this my friend. All mirror polished 304 stainless steel. Look into it. It's in the general price range you're looking in.

As I've said in other threads.....Solo if you don't plan on headers or high flow cats. ARK DT-S if you plan on headers or high flow cats.

I myself am planning on the ARK N-II. It's basically the DT-S system minus resonators, bigger piping (2.5" to 2.75"), and slant tips instead of rolled tips.

Just ordered Solo today. I have no plans to do HFC or LT...so I went Solo. I saw that advice from a few people about Solo.

I was really interested in the SW exhaust for the V6, but ended up with MRT2 instead because of cost
