what does a catch can really do?

I am still kind of new to some of the after market parts on here. I was wondering what is a "catch can" and what does it do for the car and for the preformance of the car. And if it is something really worth looking at, it would be great if somebody could post up a link I could go to to look at prices and maybe order one.

This mod in my opinion is as important as oil changes. Maybe a little dramatic, but it all comes down to performance and keeping the engine clean and efficient.

a catch can separates the oil from the air simply stated .......it goes in between the intake and valley pan air flow to remove oil being introduced back into your intake and combustion chambers..

We are offering a new can that has been tested vs others and has shown to produce better results by a lot in some cases. Our target price is $120 to your door. We offer -an fittings as well. The can is in production now, there are two proto-types that we have been testing before the final design.

Helped Mini Hlk with a oil change last night and we emptied his catch can. He didn't have but about 3K with the can and all I can say is:

"whoa, I'm buying a catch can!"

Tracy - You've got business coming on payday...

I'll ask mini hlk to post pictures...

The V8's have the same issue as the V6's. In fact, every modern car & light truck in production today has the oil ingestion in the intake aircharge issue (some worse than others).

Here are some pics at 800 miles on a brand new C6 corvette:

yeah beware not all catch can work as well as others. Internal design is what makes the can remove the most oil possible, so don't just buy one based on external looks. Not saying an attractive can can't be good, just do your homework. This should be one of the first mods if not the first.
