Rev limits?

I'm playing around with gearing ratios since I may redo the rear end. What is the rev limit. I am sure its limited by the computer. What could this be safely changed to as well.

6600 RPM is the redline on these cars. Fuel cutoff is 6800 I think. Most people agree a stock bottom end is good to 7000. Don't think I'd push the stock valvesprings that fast, though.

I've read that redline is at 6500 and that fuel cut off is at 6600 rpm and that 7000 rpm should be safe.

I don't know for sure yet. But I would be willing to bet that the stick and auto have different redline/rev limits due to different valve train and cam shaft profiles.
