Just want to warn you that it's a HYBRID Camry. I think that electric motor gives a few extra HP to the 4 banger. The down side is that the batteries weight a ton. I guess I could always hook up that Nitrous Bottle I have laying around somewhere. . . .

The racing is easy for those of you that have not done it before and several of us will be there to help the first timers. 1/8th mile drags with speeds only reaching in the low 80 mph for stock Camaros.

So come out and support the cause and have some fun with the Camaro/Corvette crowd. This is why we buy these cars, because we are car people that like to be around car people and events. We typically try to park together so if your racing, once you clear tech come park with the other Camaros/Corvettes. Same goes for the spectator area. Now let's put a whoopin on the SLOPARS and FURDS tonight!
I apologize for not making this. My son got pretty sick and I was needed at home. Some other friends there said it was a good night and hadn't heard anything about it closing. That's good news!

Sounds good.

Also agree with Arod, Corvette Diner can get EXTREMELY loud.. but the food is pretty decent and it has a neat little atmosphere.

So what do you guys think? I assume we're deciding between tilted kilt and corvette diner. Is everyone ok with the 17th? If so, i'll start a new thread with a poll for people to sign up on.

If you are out in the open portion of the restaurant, the Diner can be very loud. There just aren't many soft surfaces to absorb the sound. That's where I can help.

One of the two party rooms is the "Corvette Clubhouse". It is at the SW corner of the building, accessible from the blacklight room. It is normally used just for parties, but unless there is a party already scheduled, I can get us in. It won't be quiet, but we will be separated from the noisiest part of the restaurant. Plus, it is the coolest room in the restaurant - filled with lots of our club's memorabilia.

The 17th is St. Pat's Day. I know that there is a party booked until 1 pm, because the Diner is where some of us in the Corvette Owners Club of SD are planning on going after we do the parade. I have asked them to hold 1:30 open, so if you're willing to do a late lunch, you are very welcome to join us in the clubhouse. There is plenty of room, but I will need to get an approx. head count. We are going to hang around the St. Pat's festival area on 6th near Laurel until a little after 1, then head over to the Diner.

Yeah sounds good. I have some stuff scheduled for later in the afternoon, so I think it would be a brief stay for me. Totally forgot it was St Pat's day. I remember seeing the room in the back, but didnt get a good look at it last time I was there.

I'll let everyone chime in and see where this goes. We havent had a lunch/dinner meet in a long time! Could do Friday the 16th, before heading out to the races too(provided they dont shut down).

According to the Union Tribune the March 16 race will be on (can't find the article at the moment ).
I hope we see a good Camaro/Corvette turnout again.

I could do Friday too!

That's poker night for 3 of the Corvette owners who were there last Friday. Not that we're gambling or doing anything illegal...

They are predicting rain for Saturday. We're keeping our fingers crossed that it holds off until after the parade. If not, it won't be the first time we've done it in the rain. A couple of years ago we were carrying Mayor Sanders when the deluge hit just as we were finishing. We dumped him and threw the top up fast.

There probably won't be many (if any) heading for the Diner afterward. Are any of you still planning on going?

Welcome back Shaun. On the 24th North County folks are meeting up and have a Bon Voyage cruise for Cmlloveless. Sailor headed out on deployment soon. There's a thread in the Meets and Events section. Also, DET MSL has put together a cruise to Borrego Springs the same day, if you can't make it up here. There's also a thread for that. Hope to see you out and about bro! And again, welcome back.

Drags on Friday if the weather is good.
Possible lunch get together at Corvette Diner on Saturday @ 1300.
Two cruises mentioned above on the 24th.
Track weekend in Las Vegas on 30MAR-02APR.

That about sums up what I know.

Scott, the Hybrid does not scare me at all...my Smart has a SprintBooster, so "pound for pound" I think I've got you beat...ha! Now, that NOS is a bit of a worry...
