USB port

So what exactly can you plug into the usb port in the center counsel? I tired a thumb drive with mp3's on it, you would think with all this tech that the deck would play them, also wont play mp3 cd??

Pretty sure most cars play mp3's

Ive used the usb to charge my phone or headset which is handy having a usb power port.

It should play MP3's from a thumb drive. Haven't tired a CD/DVD with mp3s tho.

Have u tried another jump drive? I have used up to 8gb drives and all worked. If another drive doesn't work, would check with the dealer.

Yes, the CD player in the radio can play data CDs with MP3s on them.

It can't read DVDs.

I use a 16 GB Sandisk Cruzer and sink that using WMP and it plays just fine in my USB. Should be able to index 10,000 songs this way. I never listen to the radio any more.

Same here. I use also an Scandisk Cruzer thumb drive and it works perfect. The radio is absolutely unnecessary for me.
I have also tried to use a 32 GB thumb drive. Unfortunately it didn't work.

doh! i guess those files were wma

Anyone have or know of a program that will convert files in batches back into artists folders while converting large number of wma to mp3? tried about 10 online, some of which work well but want you to pay $30 , but still didnt retain artist folders.

Yeah, the files you put on the stick were probably DRM protected. Where/how did you get them?
