I wonder how many sharpies that guy went through...

Do you think you could clear coat it to keep it from fading? Or could that cause the sharpie to bleed?

It won't fade with clear coat, this is done to preserve signatures on certain memorabilia. There is a risk of it bleeding.

The guy who did the Lambo last name is Cerwinske and hes outta Florida, that was done a couple years ago. I have a motorcycle helmet that he also designed and I love the contrast of black and white. heres a pic of it. I would have this done in a minute to my car if I could, lose the factory stripes and let the artist go free.
