Question Manual 6speed transmission oil change HELP!!!

Hey Everyone my car now has 7K and i want to do the 1st transmission oil change. Any tips on how i can do this? Where is the drain plug on the trans for the oil? Any links on his? Ohhh and what kind of oil do i need? I heard the V8 trans takes trans oil instead of gear oil... Is that true? Any additives needed? Thanks All !!!

No additives needed for the trans fluid change and yes it does use ATF. I am doing mine soon with Amsoil ATF, others have used Royal Purple. Here is a link to a video. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...ht=trans+fluid

FYI you dont have to do a transmission oil change, you statement of 1st oil change seems to indicate that it needs one, it doesnt.

That being said I have changed mine and I used Redline Atf.

Cheers

loosen the FILL plug first then remove the drain plug. Just limits the issue of if you get the drian plug out but then for some reason the fill plug is siezed. You SOL if thats the case. Just an ounce of prevention...

I use Mobil 1 ATF.
