Looking for a CAM set up for L99.

I'm looking to get a cam and I'm not sure which one also what set ups to go with . I figure if I'm gonna do the cam I should replace the springs and valves ... Etc . Could some one give me some ideas on cams and packages aswell as prices.

Thanks much appreciated !

Im here in california and I got quoted 2,500 with cam springs and tune. The labor was ten hours worth of work. There is a few sites that has a 600 dollar kit for a ls3 conversation that has all the brackets and all u need to get after that is the cam and springs. My tuner suggested a gt3 cam but I have not read up on that cam yet.

You dont need new valves. Most people think it is a waste of money unless you are building a racecar

What about that whole dropped valves ordeal with some LS3? Why did that happen btw? Was it just a bad batch?

Lethal Racing just designed a healthy cam for the L99 that does not require a stall converter

I have the stock stall and I di da comp stage one cam with the LS3 conversion. Probably could go a tad more agressive with a cam and no stall but I'd do a brake upgrade if I did.

Just get yourself a Texas Speed VVT cam. They have some from mild to wild and will even send you a tune with it. There VVT-3 cam makes 100 bhp so you can't go wrong with it. It will save you some money because you will not have to do the L99 to LS3 conversion and you will not have to sacrifice any tq down low.

I had the shop switch cams in the Camaro to be boost friendly otherwise I would not have done the LS3 conversion. Switched from a Mast Stage II VVT cam to a custom LS3 style turbo cam. The car lost 12tq down low and picked up 7hp up top.

Having said that I will be selling the Mast VVT cam now that the LS3 switch is complete.
