AMEN to that, but that is also what makes our cars badass is they weigh over 4k and still haul ass. My car weighs exactly 4400 with me in it and I weigh in 200lbs so its still a pig at 4200. I also like having a fully stock car with nothing taken out of it to run as fast as it can go. When I went to LSX Finals almost every car there had stripped interiors and still considered their cars true street 5th gens. I totally disagree. I have my calendar marked for C5 and will be dialed in by then...........I hope

Hopefully I'll be ready then as well... I will...

Going to the Mile in March and then on to the 1/4 mile venues...

I'll be bringing a load to the Fest... about 4200 lbs worth of it... as for how fast it'll go, that's yet to be determined...

I heard he's putting NAWS on it too.....gonna be a Fast and Furious bling car when he's done.....at least it will be FAST.....at least.....he hopes it will.

Think of C5 as a self help group for that group of idiots. Like AA, or GA.
Island of Misfit Toys is one phrase I've heard used to describe us. I think idiots is probably more accurate.

We have a new nickname for the SSE car...... "The Load"..... ......at least it's better than "The Pile."

A few pics of the East Coast Shootout in Darlington, SC. It was actually a great event even though turnout was nothing like I expected. We were able to put down the best pass to date with the car coming in at 10.61@133.xx on a 1.5 60' time which was enough to take the fastest Camaro at the event. Not enough Camaros....only like 8 or 9 IIRC.

Raising the rear coil overs did nothing for the 60' time, in fact it seemed to have hurt it but with an M6....ya just never know. We are putting the car under the knife officially and the cage guy is coming over Monday to look it over...I also have the stock engine sold and the trans so out it comes.

When this car next hits the track it should be an RHS 427/F1R with a 4L80e/3600stall/transbrake combo that we will be looking to go deep into the 9s with. More to come.

Yeah...it worked out so well for you on the Farks car.

I'd love to do it first time out but there will be a lot of bugs and tuning I am sure....11s is easy....10s not that hard....9s will be tough.

Farks car doesn't count. That pass was illegal. It wasn't caged for a sub 10 second pass!!!

Btw, 10's is easy to. 9's..... Not so much!:(

Who wastes time in the 11's. The real men make a few, or a 100, passes in the 10's. I just wanted to make sure I had enough experience before I take the next step. I think I'm ready!!!

You can scold them in person and educate them on how to build their car at the Black Friday event....you going?

If we gutted our cars like the Farks car we would all be in the 9's easily. Their car weighed 3600lbs and if the old methodology is correct that every 100lbs is a tenth, then my 10.3 at 4400lbs would be .8 quicker putting me at a 9.5 run. I like keeping with you guys as you still have the same goal as me and that is making a TRUE street car that is 4k plus run 9's or quicker. Its also easier to run fast when its your shop car that you can work on 24/7. We are all on the verge of the 9 second barrier and I am going to make the statement that my first run out next time will be deep in the 9's.

Agreed!!!! I'm at 4179 with the change to 16" Bogarts from the 17's. Shit, I still run with my front sway bar. The shop car guys don't have to pay the $100+ an hr labor rates that add up fast. I'd be 9.6's if I was 3600#. If you look at it that way none of us are doing to bad.

Sounds badass....BUT.......only until you put down some nice passes at the track...otherwise it's all talk.

100% agreed. We are doing awesome being that we the CUSTOMER are running OUR cars and getting good passes. I would give anything to have my own shop to do whatever I wanted and I guarantee you I would have one fast 5th gen. No disrespect to the guys building shop cars just stating the other % of us without the knowledge and means to build these cars ourselves are chasing you down Without these awesome performance shops, we would still have slow fat pigs. I cant wait til next year

If it only goes mid 9 then I'll burn it and collect the insurance!

We're looking to go upper 8s.

yeah, but not on the first pass... seat time and set-up... High 8's is my ultimate goal as well... but it'll take a while to get there...

No...I doubt we can go 8.90 first pass out but within a couple of trips to the track that is what I am expecting...we'll see. Talk is cheap....nothing else on this damn car is.

All we're waiting for now are the pistons. Damn Diamond apparently makes these things out of unobtanium and the wait is going on 4 weeks so far and still no pistons.
