This would be a car in the true spirit of the original Z28.
I agree regarding the MR. However keep the brakes. Yes they are warranted for the track and they are lighter than the 1 piece SS brakes. Also 25HP isnt enough 75 will work just fine.

I like the idea of magnetic ride suspension & brakes which i figure will be standard for the 6th gen!!! I really wanted to hear about added Horse Power not just minor changes or cosmetic changes.. add more power then ill line up to trade or add. just my 2cents???

So I don't think 40k is out of line for a mid-range model.

The supercharger for the ZL1 really is worth 5k installed add to that the cost of the LSA, you're still easily selling a car with 6k more of an engine with the supercharger. Add to that the other traction control stuff, unique forged wheels etc, you've added another 4k in cost. Add to that profit margins for being the top dog, the car could easily be priced 12k more so unless they're going to price the ZL1 for 56k with no options (assuming they price the 1LE at 45k+), they're going to out price the current Ford GT500 by 7k... that's not good for business. Add to that the fact that it only will have 580 horses which is 30 more than the current GT500 and a heavier body (most likely) 6k doesn't really seem justified, even with magnetic ride... The ZL1 will be priced 3k more than the current GT500 at most.

Take that full circle, you really can't charge much more than 40-42k starting for the 1LE considering that it has none of the engine upgrades of the ZL1. But also consider the fact that the Boss 302 is priced at 40k and my argument appears to make even more sense as this car would be its direct competitor.
By your own statement , MAGNETIC RIDE , EXAUST AND SOME EXTERIOR options for 9K , NWJ =No Way Jose

After seeing the ZL1, I want to add the strut brace and that 2x2 exhaust pipe setup to my 2011 2SS/RS, and I'll be fine

Make it a true 1LE with no RS package, no SS Emblems no leather....no nada.

Give us big sways and a bump in compression and call it!

Updated: 1LE concept sketch

All
This concept seems to be generating the most discussion so far, and I'm not surprised at ALL.
I wanted to pass along the "updated" 1LE concept sketch that was released for Autoweek. The content shown on the car is the same, but I had added some more reflections, updated logo and more realistic wheels.
For those of you who enjoy the artwork, here ya go!

Take care.........and look for more photos of all the cars this week from SEMA.

This is my favorite. If they consider making this option, I'm officially saving for this model! What else would you want to do to it!...besides making it in white - and motor mods of course.

But I really like this option!

aftermarket air ride + exhaust + vinyl stickers wouldn't cost 9k.. That's including labor to tear of the old suspension + exhaust. Not sure why magnetic ride would be significantly higher especially considering you don't have to pay for the cost of standard springs etc on top of the cost of magnetic ride. Somebody else mentioned that it is a $1700 upgrade for the vette. Even if you consider the fact that the stock vette has more expensive suspension components than the Camaro SS, 3-5k in added cost is completely reasonable as an "upgrade price" for the suspension alone. Painting a hood with custom graphics would probably run you 2k, including clear coating the bumpers and fenders... But I bet they'd give you vinyl stickers though because even the Dodge Challenger SRT8 has stickers on it. Manufacturers don't really do custom paint jobs anymore... The upgraded dual mode exhaust, considering the fact that you don't have to pay for a standard exhaust as well wouldn't be more than a 1k upgrade cost... so really add it up again 5k+2k+1k=8k Add in even more profit margin and you're at 9k... So I still don't see how that is not reasonable, unless you were arguing that 9k was too much? Then you may have a case...

Brakes?
I think your high on the suspension price. But I do think your $8,000. for what they've done is correct. That puts it at about $39,500. For a base 1SS 1LE model.

well I was trying to be overly generous assuming the SS used dirt for suspension haha. But anyway, the 1LE would obviously be competition to the Boss Mustang and they're not going to go over more than a couple thousand than the Boss at the MOST, they may still undercut it by a couple tens of dollars to say that theirs is cheaper.

If the LS3 remains untouched it should be less $ than a Boss.

Which Boss exactly?

Interior looks in between a 1SS and 2SS (say 33k)...black wheels, ZL1 Eagle F1s, brakes, exhaust, and suspension won't be cheap...

This is where I kinda disagree. When comparing cars it's not just one model you should look at, think about the line up in some of the mags. Just because cars cost X amount they are still pitted against cars far more expensive and cars that are less. Just like the 5th gen SS was put against the GT500 we all called BS on that one. But never the less it was a magazine article. Now if performance was raised in which it's obvious that MRC has some magic on road courses, but we need a HP bump regardless. Top notch performers like the Boss LS, BMW M3, Porsche, and Mercedes, have more powerful options and they are lighter or both. Think broad is my point not so narrow minded. Remember GM is global, if this car performs like we all want it to, it has the possibility of opening new markets.

Interior wise it's look to be only missing the aux gauges. Otherwise it is appointed in full leather just like the 2SS

Just trying to keep the costs down to hit the 40K mark. The stock brakes hold up just fine for most track events. 75 hp on the LS3 will be tough without a cam.

But I like the idea of 75. LS7 of course, but then $45-50K is more like it.

Also they can ditch the ground effects. Gingerbread.

For 40k you are not going to have a camaro that performs on level with the big dogs of this segment. Take that Copo 9562 add 427, safety, Hd drivetrain, MRC, Manual only, and let's not forget Z/28...

This is not in detail but you get the drift.
