Speedtrap47--thanks for the CSX rail yard maps. Very interesting. I was wondering if the train would be delayed in the auto distribution centers in Tennessee or the one up the road from you. But as of 8AM EST today it's been on the road about 17 hours since leaving Louisville and hasn't stopped as far as I know; so maybe it's going non-stop to Jacksonville...I hope.

Tyson (Dirty D)--I loved the pictures. Car and stripes look great! Thanks for posting the pics. I'm feeling a little better about possibly getting the car before Christmas. The dealership general manager told me he's contacting Chevy's District Manager to see if they can get it "hot shipped" from Tampa to Naples FL. I hope that works out. With any luck, the car should make it to Jacksonville today and Tampa tomorrow.

Hang in there Jerry, I stopped at the dealer to see my car and they had the dash torn apart but the top was down and it looked really good even dusty. I know yours isn't at the dealer yet, but really mine is just as far/close as yours. And I agree Dirty D's car looks better in every pic. You will be driving her soon.

Speedtrap..my wife and I were amused that your grandkids got to see and sit in the new car first. Maybe one of these days you'll be able to teach both how to drive it. Good looking kids and good looking car! Hopefully you did get to pick it up yesterday and had an enjoyable ride home. Looking forward to your first impressions and more pictures.

pensphan87..I was wondering what they were doing to your car that required them to tear the dash apart. I know you can't pick the car up until after the first of the year, but will it be in January? Were you able to take it for a drive yet?

Dirty D..Yep, I think it must be my turn, but I'm still waiting. I never knew freight trains moved so slowly until I watched my car crawl on it's way to SW Florida. Early this morning (after three days) it finally arrived in Jacksonville and no telling how long it will sit there. It has one more rail leg left (to Tampa 207 miles) and I'm hoping it starts that trip today! It's still possible I could have it by Christmas but that would take a Christmas Miracle!

Drove it home last night , put about 80 miles miles on it. Felt great.
Good HUD design the wife can't see the speed from her side.

Most of the family got to sit in it before I could get there.

The grandkids will have their Camaro present for Christmas (Their Daddy's a Mustang fan)

Now that's funny!

Also, I think the HUD is the neatest innovation I've seen on a car since they went from four to eight track tape decks. For those that don't know what I'm talking about, ask your dad.

Yep, but do you have any four track tapes? I think I have an old deck up in the attic.

I just called and was VERY surprised to learn my car left Jacksonville at 10:10 EST this morning heading for Tampa. Will have to call my dealer now and remind them they promised to help have it "hot shipped" to the dealership. Car should be in Tampa tonight and hopefully will be trucked to the dealership tomorrow.

My Dad had one tape It was a Frank Sinatra tape I think, it came in the second used car he bought after we emigrated to the US back in 1960.
Otherwise he wouldn't have afforded the luxury back then.... I inherited the car as my primary ride, until the frame rusted out from the road salt exposure (Ohio winter). Never did buy any tapes myself, had to pay for gas and insurance if I wanted to drive.. Sinatra grows on you eventually..
By the time I turned 16 car radio had moved mainly to 8-Track .... My first car buy (used) in college came with an 8 Track, my second car after graduation and a JOB had a cassette and so on.. Now I can watch satellite TV in the car.. Listen to satellite broadcast music...

Hey jerry thanks for asking, yeah I was being a little over dramatic they only had 3 or 4 panels off the dealer was installing the ambient lighting kit for the footwells and cup holders. We will be taking delivery in january we are currently redoing our mortgage and waiting for the new year offer from the gm card. I have not gotten to drive her just yet, every time I going to see her it's too late, raining or they're working on her. I'm hoping the driver home in january but if the weather's bad I have a enclosed trailer lined up.

Merry Christmas to all of you guys.

My Christmas got a lot better when my car finally showed up at the dealer yesterday morning; and it was worth waiting for! I picked it up yesterday afternoon. Other than some minor scratches on the exterior (which the dealer took care of), everything was perfect. At time of pickup the temp in SW Florida was 85 and it was sunny, so down came the top and up I-75 I went. Love this car!!! Put about 135 miles on it yesterday and plan to put on a bunch more today.

Your Convertible looks like it made the trip down south in good shape The stripes look great and of course having the palm trees in the back ground looks alot better then the last time i saw your car here in the plant !!

It was great to follow your story here at C5 and i wish you all the best . Thank You for supporting GM and Team Camaro . Best Regards from Canada
