SE Iowa here, could meet at Iowa City. Should get a thread started the closer it gets. Are you planning a one day drive?

I believe Oklahoma crew will be taking I44 route if I am not mistaken and hopefully have Kansas and Missouri on board as well as we travel through

Seems as though it is shaping up to be a "what interstate are you taking" therefore the next thing is the meeting points along the way of the route your taking and meeting places where interstates meet. Rest areas work well if you know approximate times of travel which will be hard to determine. Police escort will have to thought of also if this gets big.

You have some good points. However, the police escort should not be needed.

If it gets to 50 or more cars the escort may come as standard equipment, whether we want it or not.

You might want to keep an eye on this if someone doesn't start a Nebraska camarovan. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=201364

I'm in with this group. I'm in Beloit, so those heading down Thursday I'll run with the pack. We could have a nice sized group camarovanning to Chicago to meet with the rest of the C5G crew going down that day!

C5G hasn't set a time yet. I imagine most of us will be driving down Thursday.

If the Chicago contingent wants to be there before 4 LOCAL time, we'll want to leave before noon. (3 hours drive time + 1 hour time difference) There's supposed to be "something" happening at 4ish to kick things off... I was thinking about leaving at 10:30-11 ish, which would give time to get in, get checked in, and clean up the car....

Perhaps we should start a separate Chicago area meet point caravan thread?

C5G generally meets at the Westin in Itasca, then picks up others along the highway towards our destination. We'll set up predetermined meet points on highway ramps and we use ch. 5 on our radios.

You northerners, yeah :p

I would suspect that if we are going to meet with anybody coming from the west, via I-80, we could meet at the South Holland Oasis on 80 (last oasis before the sate line) like we did for BBOMG 3.
