Active exhaust fuse pull?

Will you be able to pull the fuse for the active exhaust on the zl1 just like the zo6 and zr1 guys are doing to keep the butterfly valves open all the time?

Maybe I am missing something here? If the valves open automatically on their own when the throttle is pushed, what is the purpose of the fuse pull or manual over ride?

Some may want the valves open all of the time, even at idle or partial throttle.

The valves wont open until right around 3500 RPM. With the switch you can keep them open all the time!

I would imagine that the computer system would have to be reprogrammed or swapped out as well since my understanding is that the valves are controlled electronically....I could be wrong on this though. Anyone?

If I get one I will ditch mine. I hate the factory exhausts on the two vetts I have had. borla, corsa, b&b all sound better. So if there are poeople like me out there there will be used ones.

One can simply remove the dual mode exhaust fuse which leaves the exhaust in the open mode, and it doesn't cost anything. Or one can purchase the "Mild2Wild" dual mode exhaust control that costs under $100 and takes about five minutes to install, and the exhaust mode can be controlled by remote as desired.

So by a 5 min install id assume the remote just disables/enables the fuse at the fuse box? Is it that simple?

One might not want it open at all times. i ran open cut outs on a LT1 and it was not all that loud. I guess we will have to wait and see.
Thanks bear!

now that I re-read your post I'm assuming you meant for the switch itself...

http://www.southerncarparts.com/corv...tch-p-231.html

this probably won't work on the ZL1 though. Most likely have to wait until the ZL1's are out for a little bit before they come out with something compatible.

That is exactly how it works. If you can change a fuse, you can install this.

Mainly just to keep it quiet at idle and under 3500 rpm.
