I love GTR's but lets put some 91 or 93 octane in it and see what it does.

Well, yes and no. While rare (and expensive) Sunoco does offer 100 octane gasoline for legal, on road use. So you could potentially run into a GTR running an even higher octane rating than what they were running in this car.

remember the first "Fast and Furious" when they were all about the "5 second car" meaning up to 0-60 in 5.99 seconds? Yeah cars were slow back then...

I always knew I would never own the fastest bone stock car in the world and that still is true. If I had $100k I know I could find something better to do with it than send all that profit to Japan...no matter how fast it is...that's just me!

The fuel they tested it on, 100 RON, is readily available in much of Japan. Take the results for what they are, it will probably pull a 10.9 with 93, I can't see why it wouldn't. Private owners pulled 10s out of 2012s, so with a bit of extra oomph it shouldn't be a problem.

10.8 on 100 octane? What do they do on pump gas, and with the computer in a mode that doesn't void the warranty?

the gtr was built for the track. i work at a nissan dealer as a tech and we sold maybe 10 of them since 09 including a 2012 black edition that was just sold. we dont ever see any problems with them at all. u just got to be rolling in money to maintain it. put it this way a 18 month service recommand by nissan is around $3500 and thats just doing things like diff service, oil change, changing the brake fluid, trans fluid, all service items. for the amount of performance per dollar for the gtr is well worth it considering the cars its competing with.

I'm sure Nissan's number one concern when conducting this test was pleasing camaro drivers on camaro5.

It's a Japanese car, from a Japanese car company that will be sold in Japan and they're using gas that is readily available all over Japan and equivalent to our, "premium" gas. It will probably be a bit slower on 93, but again take the test for what it is.

Now, can they do something about it looking like a Supra turbo on steroids? I just can't get past the '80s look! Sorry!

I think the GT-R looks great.

That car is designed to be aerodynamic. Every curve, every line in that car is there for a greater purpose than looking pretty anyway.
