MACE's Intake Insulator/High Flow's Ported Intake Manifold

UPDATED NOV 14TH

I went in to dyno with my AFR in the 11's, and my timing being pulled 11-12* from 4k rpm to red line, and with a port mismatch. All this will be taken care of on my next dyno but here is tonight's result. Still very very impressive!

The result.. "peak", 9hp and 13lb ft of tq..I guess ok, and the good part, "off peak" almost all across the range, 20lb of ft tq and 18hp Not bad

Today's dyno condition(nov 14th) 71F, 41%, 29.82 Pressure(274rwhp, 259rwtq)
(baseline)Last dyno condition(oct 11th) 69F, 79%, 30.07 Pressure(265rwhp, 246rwtq)

As you can see the condition was almost identical for both of the time.

Do you guys remember the e85 dyno? check the comparison. The same 20ft lb of tq gain over e85.

I thought I was not going to get everything until later this week but boy did the mail man bring me a surprise

The first part of the project is all here. Mace's cold air intake insulator and High Flow's stage 3 ported intake manifold.

I will go ahead and update you guys as I go through the install, first impression, and finish with the dyno.

For now I guess I will let the pics speak for itself

Looking forward to seeing your results! BTW, what size did you go with for the intake insulator?

I originally got the 6mm, but mace also sent me 12mm to test fit on our camaro since the 12mm had fitment issue on the aussie's LLT. So I plan to put both together and test fit 18mm. If it fit.. it should give the best result. For a reference, the 23lb ft of tq or over 10% gain that mace got on their alloytec was with 12mm.

I plan to do the install sometime tomorrow. I was even planning on painting the manifold red to match my car's color scheme but I think I am going to put that off for another time.

Trying to think if I should get a tune update from vince before the dyno or after.

Anyway, so anyone know the factory torque spec for the manifold bolts and the top cover bolts?

Tune update might be good. I wouldn't do it without tune, but you have more gauges than me so might not be critical. Can't wait for results

Tight?

I'd get an updated tune before the dyno session. Getting your car tuned while on a dyno is different than tuning it on the road/track. Unless of course you want a dyno Queen.

Thanks tj. I got it. For anyone that change out their manifold in the future the bolt torque specs are 89in for the cover and 18lb for the actual manifold bolts. The bolt pattern sequence can be the usual criss cross and in and out.

I think I am going to wait and see if my AFR or the fuel trims change before asking vince to whip one up for me. I plan to hit the dyno more then once so let see how much extra a tune will get me. In other vehicles such as LS a tune is only good for about 5-6rwhp in my type of scenario.

Install pics and first impression to come this evening

I am just curious where the Mace Intake insulators are non conductive . How much chasis Ground will be lost relying on just the bolt which will have a sealant arount the threads. will static electricity form and creat any problem and should a ground jumper be added from the intake to a good chasis ground.
