From a roll, the SS will take the R/T. At the track in the 1/4 mile, it depends on driver. The bone stock auto R/T I have has run a 13.20 @ 105.7 for its best so far. Its got a little more in it but not much.

Camaro SS is faster.......... (that's a fact).

The Challenger R/T has been tested over and over by many different sources and each time it runs .3-.5 sec slower than the Camaro SS.

That's not to say a poorly driven Camaro SS can't be beat by one. But that can be said for lots of cars.

As soon as 8secpumpgasdad decides to post up his slip, he'll have the fastest stock 1/4 mile time for the forum.
His previous fastest time was 12.8. But he ran 12.59 last weekend (L99, A6).

He went back this weekend and ran 13.0 in 1800 ft DA with traction issues.
But this is his slip from last weekend.

When you say "stock" do you mean showroom stock? Stock power with DRs? No bolt ons but a tune?

12.5 out of a 3800lb car that makes around 340rwhp? I find that pretty hard to believe if your referring to a showroom stock L99 unless it had sticky tires and mineshaft air.

And the OP is referring to a charger, not a challenger. And before you tell me about the 3 RTs that run at your track that can't get lower than high 13s, I've already heard it. Those guys can't drive...(that's a fact)

OP: Charger is slightly heavier than the challenger which will lose every time if you paper race.

Weight affects cars on more than just paper . As far as 12.5 goes, 60 ft times will drive down those ets with good track prep. I went 12.6 with a 2.2 60 ft. That 60 time is terrible, I just can't launch this car. These cars are faster please accept it. My mods are headers and cai.

I never said the Charger/Challenger was faster. And I was referring to the L99. The LS3 I can believe.

What exactly do you mean by showroom stock? Is there such a thing? Anytype of mod done to a vehicle that vehicle is no longer considered stock. As far as the rwhp 350 - 360 to ne exact.

i mean roll it right off the dealership lot and to the track. no bolting anything on, not tuning etc. i understand that any type of mod done to the car is no longer stock, but some people's definition of "stock" varies...

and i was referring to "showroom stock" RWHP numbers for the L99.

It seems obvious: stock is stock, no changes allowed. But others have argued that you should be allowed to 'free up' the horsepower that the engine already makes, with things like headers & high flow mufflers (or just an open exhaust). And improving traction by changing the wheels & tires still just lets the car make the most of what it already has. There are other things, but basically a car with a full set of light mods could still be considered to be stock by some

The only way you lose to a R/T, even a bolt on one, is if you have it in park or the parking brake on.... Owned both....

From a 60 -70 mph roll, the advantage should increase for the Camaro SS.
