Stunning head-on photo

Taken from a Mustang forum.....see, we appreciate all cool cars

That colour really "pops" under those lighting conditions.

Beautiful. You're absolutely correct, the color looks extra good in this photo. And I just noticed for the first time (big duh moment) that the Camaro has a trapped hood. That was one of the styling highlights of the Malibu, and I'm glad to see it made its way here too. It really shows off GM's good body panel fits

One other thing, and I know its been discussed before, is the headlights. The LED halos and "crushed ice" main beams look superb. It's like subtle jewelary. Compare to the standard headlights on Bumblebee....they just don't compare.

But, as it stands, that is THE most stunning, evil, angry, agressive looking front ends on any car

From the front, the camaro looks like it has the same sh*t eating grin as the drivers will have.

for those unfamiliar with the term
sh*t-eating grin:
a look of extreme satisfaction on someone's face that is annoying to other people who are less happy.

Damn I hadn't noticed the trapped hood either. What does that say about my attention to detail considering how much I've looked at this car in photos? Stunning picture anyway.

When the hood is not the end of the front of the car. It takes very high manufacturing tolerances to make it happen because the front fascia and the quarter panels have to match up exactly.

Ill post some pics in a minute

Double post!

First is the trapped hood.. labeled are the number of sides that must match to within 1/4 inch.. in a trapped hood 3 sides must all line up correctly or the gaps will be uneven..

In a non trapped hood only 2 of the sides must line up and this is much easier to accomplish..

Bob Lutz spoke about it in a video introducing the Malibu. More expensive, but the end result is pure beauty.

What's kind of Ironic, though...is that the second gens (the proclaimed crappiest modle years for the Camaro) were the only generation, so far (I think) That has this type of hood...

EDIT: Nope...I lied, the First gens had it, too. The 4th gens don't count, because they have the headlights for wiggle-room, IMO. I'd call those: Almost-trapped hoods.

aaahh, I see. I could figure out halo headlights on my own but not that. I wonder if it will stay that way for production or if they will go with a normal hood

I don't think they can go with a normal hood, without seriously altering the design of the front facia...
