Is there a DIY for Doug Thorley Shorties??

Just bought some Doug Thorley Headers from a member on here and have been searching for a DIY. Havent been able to find one for the DT's. Any help is appreciated.

I doubt there would be a DIY since these require welding.

If you can weld, then it's an easy DIY. But like UCF mentioned, it becomes a pro install if not.

There are some really great pics and install threads in the V6 Forums. I know a few of the folks here took some really great shots and posted them up.

Great links on our thread for them:

Hope it helps ya!

Looking at these threads, it looks like you have to make a new downtube with an O2 bunge to put these on. Is this true or can you trim the end of the DT's to make it work?

Yeah I saw the JBA video. Those seem like there is a little more welding or cutting but now Im starting to wonder. IROCanSS the DT's dont bolt on to the rest of the exhaust. It has to be welded which means literally no chance of a CEL

Yeah that's what I would really like to do. Do you know if there is a write up on here about that or where he got the flanges from as well as size etc? If I can go that way then I def would

I believe its a 2.5 outerdiameter 3 bolt exhaust flange. I remember when we cut the cats to put the flange and weld it they had to "bump" or expand the pipe a bit to fit the 2.5 outer diameter and weld together just so it'll sit flush with the pipe

this is what he told me. you can probably use any 2.5 outer diameter exhaust flange

Dig this! Never seen or heard of anybody installing these without welding. We'd love to know more about this!

Thanks

I have the same ones, I should be getting mine installed this coming week. I am very curious to see how my car sounds with these on, I have already installed the GMPP Exhaust with Tips, Roto-Fab CAI, and ADM Race Air Scoop.
