Well, I don't think I have to worry about my ex anymore. He opened up to me about a new girl he is trying to get with, and as a friend I told him some things he didn't want to hear. His divorce isn't final, and SHE was the one cheating on him so he kicked her out. They also have 3 kids together, and I told him he was being an idiot going out already looking for a new POA while he is technically still married. Some other things came out too along the lines of him needing to grow up and realize his choices don't solely affect him anymore and that his kids should come first. Yeah, well he didn't like that too much. So we aren't talking.

Jewel you might want to try wetting the surface before you apply them, so you can move them around easily and get them just right, then squeegee the air bubbles out easily

I am having someone apply them for me. He said he has been applying them for years.

Wish it was hot here - I think it got up to 60 today... Rained all day. But that didn't stop me - Ladybug got a wash, clay, wash, buff, polish, and wax! Neighbors think I'm nuts for washing in the rain, I'm sure. Did everything else in the garage. The sun came out just as I finished, just in time for a pic to show off how pretty and shiny she is!!

Feeling of accomplishment when ya get all that done isn't it Jeanette? Here's a tip I learned from someone, you can clay bar while the car is soapy! Then you don't have to wash, clay, wash again and you save all that detail spray to boot.
Sarah - 13 lbs you GO girl!
Mysteek, glad that man is history!
Jewel, post some pix when you get those blackouts done!
Me, I washed Trigger after work tonight (did all the other steps last weekend before the car shows), so I'll have a nice clean Camaro to drive over to Seattle in tomorrow night. Now I just hope Seattle rained itself out today so I can have a dry trip. I am assured by my tire guy that 4 20" tires on wheels will fit in my Camaro - 1 in the trunk, 2 in the back seat, and 1 in the passenger seat. I will take pictures
My strawberries are doing fabulous, got enough to make a batch of jam tonight, and that is just the first picking. No way my corn will be knee high by the 4th of july though. This cool spring just doesn't do much for the baby plantlings.

Actually, Tori, the paint guy at the shop I go to suggested claying using Dawn instead of detail spray, then you get the greasy gunk too (not to mention, detail spray leaves a residue). But then you have to wash the Dawn off... Same concept, though! I do feel accomplished. And sore....

I wish you weren't getting into Seattle so late, I'd love to see you! Oh well, I guess pics of all those wheels will just have to do... Hey, wait a minute, will there be room for Turbo???

As much as I hate traveling alone he's staying home this time. I might need to put one of those tires in the front seat! I was going to go up to Sedro Woolley tonight to see my stepdaughter but I can't get ahold of her so I'm just going to see if Dennis will let me crash on his couch - want to meet for breakfast Monday morning? I'll pm my cel # to you. Give me a call if you can swing it!

That was a great car washing temp! I'd love to wash the card here in 60 degrees over the 90+ it's been. Makes washing it extra long since I'm constantly watering it to keep the water spots away. I hate water spots lol.

UPDATE: I am so p-ed off right now. After argueing with the adjuster over him writing up the wrong part (he insisted hes been doing it for 25 years and so his part was right and I was wrong and obviously know nothing about the camaro I drive and work on and mod myself) I took the estimate to the bodyshop and had to have my estimater Matt call the adjuster and tell him exactly what I already tried to tell him before. (which was basically he wrote the estimate to replace the stock rear piece on a camaro that does not have the oem ground effects package even after I told him three times that mine has the ground effects package and that rear piece is a 1270$ part not the $112 part he wrote it for) Then he decides he is no longer going to give me a replacement part even though the estimate was written for a replacement and his own words to me was if he was wrong have the body shop call and he will add the difference. The adjuster was a jerk to begin with. I hate it when they treat me like a stupid girl. Ive been working on cars with my dad before I was even tall enough to drive one and for the past 12 years I've worked on 3 different generations of Camaro not to mention I do have one of those important things called an ASE certification. Sry to vent so much. I just want my car fixed back to its original form of perfection already.

Had a great speed run over to Seattle to pick up my tires (thanks Dennis!) and did get ahold of my stepdaughter finally so stayed there overnight. We had a great visit, went to see my 93 year old mother in law in her nursing home, she was very surprised to see us, bless her heart!
Nice weather for the drive, no rain although it was monsoon season the day before I left, and today it's monsoon season again. All 4 tires & wheels fit in the trunk and back seat too! I could have brought Turbo. Hubby told me he would not eat his dinner, and he camped out on the front porch on watch for me all day and night. Poor little guy missed his mommy!
@HIIO - I hate it when guys treat ya like you're clueless on cars. I'm willing to say so when I don't know something, but if I know it's a fact and they poo-poo my knowledge I just tell them "WHATEVER, what do I know, I'm just a girl" and let them continue on in their ignorance.
Hubby used to have a bike and he and his man-friend were discussing what was wrong. I told them my opinion which they poo-poo'd (of course) and eventually after many hours of wrenching, cussing, and re-wrenching they had to admit I was right and they were wr... wro... wwwww....wr....w... NOT right. After that I got

Yeah, It is super frustrating when that happens!! I hope you get it worked out. I took my car to a repair shop a few years ago trelling them to repait it as the master cylinder was out. I had to take it back 3 times and have my husband go with me the second 2 times before they finally fixed what i told htem was wrong.. When I got my wheels I was a bit unhappy that they did not turn hte center cap so that the work Lorenzo read in the same direction as the word Lorenzo on the spoke (I know a bit OCD). The guy said It will be different when you drive it implying I did not know my wheels turn when I drive & that when I stop a diferent part of the wheel will be at the top . I just said "really?" & walked away. Guys can treat us like they think we are so ignorant. You stick with it & make them fix it right!

@Hers: Ya the guy was just a total a@@. I will never understand why some men have to act that way towards a woman. I wish I could have heard that adjuster admit to me he was wrong! The adjuster was so bad that not only did he treat me like crap but he screwed up the entire estimate and refused to rewrite it so my estimater Matt at the body shop is rewriting it himself and sending it into USAA. He also bad mouthed me on the phone to Matt while I was sitting in his office listening in which was sooo professional of him.
On the estimate he only allotted 6 minutes to clear coat... seriously 6 minutes. And instead of allotting for a three stage paint which is what the IOM is, he called it two tone and alloted for a two stage paint. And of course he didnt have the right parts listed. And I was the idiot....
My husband has now decided he is going to deal with it all after what went on yesterday. He has that crazy scary army SSG part of him that will do well dealing with mean insurance adjusters.

@Ruby: I hate it when you tell a tech whats wrong and they ignore you. Our job as techs is to listen in detail to what our customer is telling us. One of our biggest tools is the amount fo detail we get from the person that drives the car everyday. When i was younger I had to take my dad in with me to the local dealership I had purchased my Z28 from to get the work on it done right. The car was still under warranty and the waterpump went out after only having it 2 days. The guy at the dealership was a jerk and would only fix it with stop leak which isnt a fix. And of course they wouldnt lsiten to me when i insisted they fix it properly. So I went and got my daddy. They fixed it right away when my dad went down there and ripped into them. Sad that it takes a man to get your point across.

I had a sexist pig ruin my whole weekend a few weeks ago.
Went with a group for a dyno day, and when Ladybug didn't put down the numbers she should have, I asked the tech if maybe something was wrong, he referred me to the shop owner. After he had stood in front of my car with the hood open, he still had the balls to tell me I needed a cold air intake (the tube on my K&N is painted bright red - I know he knew I already have one ).... then he asked the mechanic to "show her what headers look like". I was soooooooo mad! I'm no gearhead, but I'm not stupid!

(after much discussion with people I trust, who know much more than I do, we came to the conclusion that this guy calibrated his dyno low just to try to sell stuff....)

So, yeah - we've all been there to one degree or another....

Jeanette, you should have batted your eyes at him and asked how much he would charge you to install a CAI so you could get more power... when he quoted you a price then squint mean at him and say "YOU JERK - you really think I don't know what a CAI is and that I already have one?"

I was too pissed off to play the game... Oh, and he told me "Your car is really pretty"... I know she's pretty, but he didn't say that to any of the other 9 GUYS there... I know where I'm NOT taking her when I'm ready to void my warranty!

@Ladybug: At that point I think I would have turned it on him and very slowly explained to him what he was staring at under the hood lol.
I am normally very easy going and hard to make angry but something about being treated like a dumb girl by a male in the auto industry just sets me off like nothing else.
On a good note my husband felt so bad for me that while I was working on my engine cover he went and installed my footwell lighting. I had to show him how to wire them into my switch set up but all in all it was very sweet of him to want to help me out. He's even been trying to help me with my engine cover and the pieces im fabricating for it. And he asked me if I would teach him how to paint! He must be trying to win back some of those brownie points he lost for backing my car into a pole lol.

Ok, maybe HE didn't know what a CAI is

How can he think you are that stupid when you have one? You obviously had it added, so...WTF???
Really? You ADDED one, and he still thought you didn't know? Ummmmm, I guess he assumes you were "allowed" to drive it by your man.
