Hi there, are the 29 inches from the spot where it is welded on till the end of the pipe?

I do not know what you mean with "in the middle of the pipe"

thanks for the clarification

Do i need to order two different pipes for one exhaust.
Only this one? Summit Racing 622002 Exhaust Tubing, 180 Degree, U-Mandrel Bend, 2 1/4 in. Diameter, 4 1/2 in. Radius, 16-Gauge, Steel, Each

This green line is what I mean by the center.

If you're doing a single muffler (im assuming not a Camaro?), then yea, you'd need two.
This was one "U" cut in half, then the other welded to the end of it.

gonna do this in the spring, just got to decide whether to get the SOLO j-pipe or get the three U-Pipes. would it be cheeper for an exhaust shop to weld them together or is it all about the same?

What is the total cost of the pieces needed for this and what did you pay for install? I wouldn't mind getting rid of the drone on my MRT V2

Hence the need in some cases for j-pipes (Helmholtz chambers) added onto the offending existing exhaust systems.

So I made up my mind, I was trying to avoid this mod just because of the hassle so to say. LOL ... but I installed the MRT v2 and eliminated the resonators...Wow it was loud! But I couldn't deal with the 1800-2200k drone.... So I put the resonators back on. Still droning.

So does it matter if I order the U pipe or J pipe?

By the way...my muffler guy is doing it for 50.00 not too bad

U-pipe or J-pipe, doesn't matter as long as you have the proper length. I just think J-pipes that Solo Performance sells are adjustable so you don't have to worry about cutting and welding the proper length the first time.

Gotta be careful if you order the SOLO J pipes. Those are designed for their system which has no mufflers out back. So their J pipes are designed with that in mind...may not fit with the MRT mufflers without some modification.

This is true. I've never dealt with Solos pipes before. They looked to be more convenient but keep all that in mind.

I bought the exhaust from Mach and installed it this past weekend. The sound is just AMAZING with NO DRONE!!! Both my wife and I had a huge smile on our faces when we first fired her up! Thanks again Mach for all the work you put into this!

Definitely a lot less drone. Wouldn't say it is eliminated with 29 inches, but a ton better at highway speeds. Also the tone is much more refined now and sounds alot better. Probably just my imagination, but the car also seems a lot more responsive now.
