Where is the under-priced coming from? I didn't see a price for the 13' GT500. No way it's priced less than a ZL1! 650hp plus all the other changes cost $! I'm willing to bet the GT500 kool-aid won't taste quite as good once the price is released.[/QUOTE]

How can there be no GG tax?

The UV clear that GM uses is rediculously expensive, theres where your cost is in having it exposed.

With Great Sadness:

WOW! I congratulate everyone that will purchase this car as this was also in my plan.
However this is just too much for me. I was willing to pay about 52k for the car but it looks like it will be more like 62k. Once I add the base price, auto, GG tax, 6.25 in taxes its way to much. This has completely ruined my day. I am still and will always be a camaro supporter.. All I can hope for now is for GM to roll out the Z28

give it a year or so, you might be able to pick a used one up with low miles.

Cool car, but that is a lot of cash for a Camaro, you're up in the BMW M Series price ranges now.

That GG tax sucks! I was hoping for 55k GG included, but it's still a good price for the car yor are getting. Now I have to see if I can afford one.

How is it the CTS-V is just as fast as the ZL1 with less than 200 pounds of mass, better suspension/tires, and more power????
That's why I was hoping and kind of expecting it to just barely break into the 11's. I know you can add better tires and do other mods to easily reach that goal, but it is different than the official time from the manufacturer for the car that will be delivered as is from the factory. Not the end of the world, just a bit surprised like 69NMYSS.

Can the PS2's on the Caddy really grip that much better even though they have a smaller contact patch?

I thought the ZL1 would be at least 60,000 minimum. But this is a bargain. Still out of my current price range as a 20 year old lol, but it gives me hope!

Whoever is getting one is very lucky!

Alright pay up, my guess was 53k-55k. Not a bad price at all, considering what you are getting. just saw where 2013 ford shelby is putting out 650hp. Should be an interesting battle.

Add to the whole scenario the possibility of a supercharged 392 Dodge Challenger within the next couple years and the horsepower wars are really on. While it is still rumor, the new Charger SRT8 has its "Performance Pages" on the head unit that display a whole bunch of performance data and one of the "unused" gauges right now is "boost". Possibly some insight into the future.

Either way, the big three playing one-up of each other is only good news for all of us.

What was the most appealing part of the ZL1 for me at the time I was considering it was the fact that it was built for the abuse of taking it to the track and comes with a 5yr/100k warranty. I think that speaks volumes to what GM has put into this car to back it with that type of warranty understanding the abuse this car may take from some owners.

Pre tax - real price, no options (exception 6 speed auto)

Manual
$54,995 + GGT $1300.00 = $56,255

Auto
$54,995 + GGT $2600.00 + 6 Speed Auto + $1185.00 = $57,740.00

So nearly $58K for the auto (pre tax).

Hopefully they provide some real 0-60 and 1/4 mile data. Rolling start? No such thing.
