different Volant Cold air intakes

Does anyone know the differences between the volant cold air intake part #15062 and #415062? Also will the powercore (part #61503) work with either of them or just the 415062?

Not sure if that filter would fit but the differance between the two kits is that one comes with an oiled filter and one comes with a dry filter. The rest of the kit is the same.

You might want to check to see if they got the problem fixed where they caused high LTFT's. They would throw a code for this. Haven't heard if they fixed it though.

Can you tell me what the lftfs mean, and has anyone heard of a fix ? I saw another thread on this intake, and no problems reported, but hints of issues before........ I had a volant on a 08 hummer h2 and loved it, so wanted to use it again but on the SS...

Thanks

I've had the Volant dry filter since March of 2010 and have had no codes thrown because of the filter.

I will say this though, the plastic tube that connects the filter housing to the throttle body doesn't seem to fit properly/isn't quite long enough and has come loose. Threw a CEL saying the engine was running lean. Other than that no issues!

LTFT's are long term fuel trims. They are adjustment values to your fuel trims that are stored in the PCM.

High LTFT's can throw the lean CEL.

Some have blamed the filter but I don't buy that. If I remember correctly, there was an physical issue with the molding around the MAF hole. It was never confirmed, but the general consensus was that this might be causing turbulent airflow and disrupting the MAF readings. I know at least one vendor had notified Volant about the issue. Like I said it was never confirmed by Volant but several people had the same issue and it was documented to be high LTFT's. Others haven't thrown CEL's but I never saw if their LTFT's were elevated. I'm thinking they won't throw a code till they hit high teens/low twenty's.
