Headers catback question
I have a new '12 SS LS3 arriving mid Dec. I am thinking about CAI inc., Stainless Works 1 7/8" headers with highflow cat and SW Retro catback exhaust. I would rather not tune due to warranty issue. Would it throw codes without tune or would it be OK.
Thanks for the help |

im my opinion you are gonna run lean, and without a tune you will not get all the gains from your mods

It will throw a CEL. The O2 sensors are going to get skewed reading with the headers. It won't "learn out" the additional horse power, but you will not be taking advantage of the full potential of those after market parts without a tune. If you can live with a CEL, do it.

Either immediately or eventually you will get a CEL. I always advise our customers to not add headers until they are ready to get a tune and don't get a tune until they are ready to kiss their warranty goodbye.

How many on here still have the warranty? It's more fun without one.
