MRT 1.0 Fitting Problem

So I purchased a MRT 1.0 axle back exhaust system and took it to my local muffler shop to be installed and totally love the sound but am a little disappointed with how it looks...they said that since the hangers were already welded on that it didnt "fit" very good as most aftermarket systems don't especially the GM ones and that they installed it the best that they could...The right side pipe looks good and is centered in the hole in the diffuser but the left side pipe is off center and also sticks out of the hole farther than the right one...I am a bit "anal" when it comes to my car and want everything perfect...just wonder if anyone has had problems centering the exhaust tips with the MRT systems or if my local shop is feeding me bs...I can't imagine that it couldn't be adjusted some how if they really wanted to make it look good...Thinking about taking it to another shop for a second opinion even if it costs me more money to get it installed right...thoughts???

The shop should have gotten it centered and at the right length without any trouble. I say they didn't try hard enough.

And WELCOME to TEAM MRT........

Any quality muffler shop should be able to get it centered.

Sounds like they should have cut the OE pipe a little bit shorter...

Thanks to everyone that replied to my post...UPDATE: I ended up taking it to a local mechanic who I trusted for a second opinion and he was able to adjust it and get it installed correctly, centered and even and also welded it so I would not have to worry about it moving, only charged me $30...pretty amazing how the dedicated muffler shop didn't care enough to take the extra time and steps to get it right, I will never be going there or recommending that shop again...

Glad to hear it all worked out for you. Now stop by the muffler shop and ask for the 30 bucks..........

Welded is also security against leaking.
