another exhaust thread

So, new question. I'm looking to get a more muscular sound, at least the most muscular a v6 can get, but also add some HP. What systems add good HP for exhaust and still don't come out sounding more like a high performance European?

If your looking for HP, you won't get there with an exhaust. Headers will help yes, but mufflers won't add much if anything. They may get you a little extra power in the mid-range but thats it.

As far as a muscular sound with the V6....your going to get lots of opinions. MRT, SOLO, ARK, AMT Flowmaster are popular ones. I run magnaflow myself...its not loud, but has a nice low-smooth tone. Bringing out the growl (muscular sound) is tougher, but once you tweak the exhaust to do it it sounds good!

+1. You won't get much power out of an exhaust unless you go with headers. Solo catbacks are one of my favorites on the V6. Check em out. We have plenty of other options on our site as well.

Headers w/ Cat-Back or Axle-Back. If you go with headers and an X-pipe that will connect to an Axle-Back. ARH are some of the best: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=180260

The MRT 2.0 Axle-Back is very popular, here are some videos: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=176790

Yeah, I knew that much. I was going to wait until I had my LTs, exhaust, x pipe, and cold air intake before I installed everything. I want the "butt dyno" to feel a huge difference all at once. I was really just curious which one offers the most hp gains for an exhaust, while still maintaining that muscle sound...

Ark is hands down the best if you want To go full cat back. I took these with my iPhone to try and help people get a sence of what it sounds like at idol. It's just a beautiful rumble in person.

Headphones are a must
