LSX Class Challenge

Question for anyone who might know.....I am going to compete in the 4 LSX shootouts next year and was reviewing the class rules etc. Real Street looks the most attractive but reading the allowed power adders it lists several ProCharger series superchargers....all of the F series EXCEPT the F1R.

Is this an oversight or is an F1R really not allowed to compete in this class.....if not any idea why?

The rules list all of the F1 blowers but exclude the F1R. I am just trying to make sure that isn't an oversight or if it was intentional.

F1C isnt far off at all from a f1r but i have always heard of people have belt slip problems when swapping from a f1c to a f1R and having to run a cog because you have to run a f1r wide open to get the right use out of it. I think it useless you plan on running a huge huge amount of boost a f1R isnt any better then the rest. I know two people very well that run f1R's and both of them say they wish they would have went turbo.

Huffer i have a friend with one of the fastest C5 vette's in the country his motor should be going back in next week i think if you want to check out his set up.

Same set up as you 427 RHS Mast heads, big cam, and f1r but he is using a power glide.

Yes there is a 5th gen class as well. Apparently its going to be a stacked class too. I cant wait to see you all in the staging lanes.

The 5th Gen class is full of slow cars.

Actually I want to run 5th Gen and Real Street and maybe even Rumble too if it can happen. Depends on how they schedule.

I'd like to go turbo too but the cost is about double what it is for an F1R.'

Doug from ECS was at the shootout last week with a vette that went 8.5x AT Darlington....I think he was running a YSI.

Incorrect sir. We ditched the YSi and put on the flagship Paxton blower with our ECS supercharger kit... That was a Novi 2500

Why not run the 2000 or the 2500... Doug went 8.63 in his Vert with the 2k, Jay has run in the 8.4's with the 2500 with more left in the combo! My new motor combination will run a 2500, its just a beefier head unit overall than the YSi.

You know our kit has gone faster than most of the other kits with less boost on a Novi 1500!

I know From hunters the cost of a custom turbo to a f1r full set up wasnt much difference.

For our 10-Rib system with the Novi 2500 I'd see no problem making 1300+ HP. The blower will be legal next year to my knowledge in the NMCA classes, they missed the approval deadline this year. This kit would run in the $8k range depending on what accessories you have already (i.e. ATI balancer that we can send you our 10-Rib hub or are we providing the ATI, etc.). This should be pretty cost effective for the power levels vs other kits. Our kits hold the world's fastest supercharged C5 and supercharged C6/Z records. I'm going to run the 2500 myself, but I will not gut my new car like you will Huff

As Matt already said, I had the Novi 2500 on there.

It was nice meeting you there, I'm sure we will catch up at the LSX events, good luck on your season!!

I plan on running real street most likely too.

I would want to run twins and just the turbos (not the cheap crap) would be almost the price of the F1R package...then you need piping, intercooler etc.

IMHO, turbo's are harder to stage the car with. If your good your good, God bless, but sometimes that's all it takes to throw you off of the tree and your put on the trailer by your opponent. For me personally, if I'm tuning a car, or running a fresh build, I'm too focused on what the car is doing and always do terrible on the tree. Same general idea applies to me with staging turbo's.

Going for straight ET though, no big deal.
