Camaro toy Run Dec 11th !
We are happy to announce that we have come to a decision on a date for the holiday toy run to the NYC Children's Hospital - Queens Campus. The date of the toy run will be Sunday Dec. 11th. Meet up locations are listed below. Additional details will be announced and added to this post as we get closer to the date. We will be adding a wish list from the kids soon as well, including the age range of the current in-patients.
For those that are new to the club, every year NY5 participates in a toy run and we bring UNWRAPPED toys to a children's hospital in Queens. Prior to NY5 starting this tradition, no one had visited these kids in years. This is a psych hospital, so we do have to be a bit strict on who can attend and what toys we can deliver. We hope to have this toy run escorted by the NYPD as we have done in the past. So lets hope for some nice weather on Dec 11th
While all NY5 events are family friendly, I do need to ask that due to the condition of the patients, no children under 15 can attend, so please plan accordingly. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to PM Mike (Mucker15) or myself (Kendell347). Also no pictures can be taken while the kids are around.
We certainly appreciate any gifts you can donate. Again because this is a psych hospital, I need to ask that you please refrain from purchasing any glass or glass like items, anything with cords (IE headphones, telephones, etc), any fake weapons, sharp or knife like toys. Trust me, I know its hard to shop and we will provide a list of items the kids really want.
If you can not attend the event, we will be having our holiday party prior to 12/11, so you can bring the toys to the party or feel free to post on the forum or PM / message Mike or myself.
We certainly hope that everyone can attend as this is a great holiday celebration and the kids love seeing our cars in the parking lot. Letting them sit in your car is completely optional.
As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to post or PM Mike, myself, or one of the moderators.
