Is taking her up to 3000 rpm bad for the engine? (stop lights, merging highway.) Thanks everyone

Are you revving her to over 3,000 RPMs or while shifting are you going over 3,000? If it's while shifting no big deal.

Of course not. That's normal driving. Before cars had overdrives, they ran faster than that just going the speed limit.

If you ever go to the drag strip you will learn that you make most of your power from 3000 rpm's and up.(it depends on the Cam for your power band)

Hope you aren't serious lol.

If you car is broken in...and you are trying not to get over 3000 rpm you are seriously missing the fun in your car alltogeter.

Not saying you need to be bumping up against the Rev limiter (which is like 6,700 rpm or somethin) but it don't hurt to push her there every once in awhile!

This....I understand not wanting to beat your car but it can handle 3000+ RPM's no problem without damaging anything.

the hp peak at 6400 which mean you dont get your full power until your rpm is at 6400. 3000 rpm is usually for normal driving, 5000 rpm if you want to go faster, and redline if you want to have fun

don't worry, at 3000 your car is not even breathing lol.
