So this may be a dumb question, but is there a special way to bend the license plate? or does putting it in the bracket bend it sufficiently?

It's more of a personal preference thing... People have just bolted it to the bracket, which seems to give it a slightly rounded effect... I personally measure center of the license plate and mark it on the edges, then use an edge like a counter top to bend on center giving it more of a "sharper" bend than just bolting it on.

Do these brackets sit up tight against the bottom of the front fascia? If they do, I assume it would rub and cause marring in the clear?

They do mount tight against the bottom of the bumper cover, however any surface that touches the car has extra soft closed cell weather resistant foam on it to eliminate vibrations, and to help protect the paint. The foam can be seen in the picture below.

Mine has been on and off (mostly on) for almost the entire 2 years I have owned my SS, and there was no noticeable damage as of last week when I pulled mine off to check a new prototype.

A couple of questions please.

1. Are both the bent and non bent versions black?
2. The install requires no drilling and the bolts already exist on the bottom of my car?

Cheers!

P.S.
I'm just up in Seattle.

Yes, all brackets come with a satin black powder coat finish standard... Yes again, the bolts are already there on the bottom of the bumper cover.

That's good to know.

What's the best way to bend the plate? Bolt down one side of the plate and then just bend it over the frame and bolt the other side of the plate?

Do you have the 2012 V8 bent in stock?

I recently redesigned the flat style v8 brackets... Didn't change much, but had to make sure it was going to fit. If you have a suggestion for something else, I'd be open to hear it.
