I also use Brilliant Glaze before Super VRT....helps knock down any uneven splotchy type areas.

Wires can be soldered back together, and splices can be undone. My car can be turned to stock easily, just takes time an effort.

Not to mention I couldn't leave anything stock for more than a week

Yep! But definately NOT with a Porter Cable. I use a hex pad.

Look here for details:
http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/134...vinyl-stripes/

I've also used the fine machine polish (again by hand) to remove scratches.

Excellent info, thanks for posting! Now I can clean up my gray stripe as it's gotten a little blotchy.

Anyone had a bodyshop repaint a panel yet? I was hit rear bumper and the bodyshop cannot match it with the quarter panel. They've tried twice now. I am thinking about getting a second opinion from another shop at this point.

I have not. Matching metalics is very difficult. I am surprised they have not tried to do a blend onto the panel. You are lucky they did not based on the piss poor job they did on the bumper. No depth at all.

I had my front bumper redone, it's close by no exact match. You really have to look at it to see it tho.

That looks terrible... They need to do a better job. ITS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT COLOR! and there is hardly any metallic in the bumper compared to the Cyber Gray!

Agreed. I'm not happy and only took delivery the 2nd time as it was overcast and I couldn't see much difference in the shade. The sun really brings it out as you can see. The metallic is there but understated.

My insurance company is having the bodyshop owner contact me. Meanwhile I take a mismatched car to the fest.....

I had to have the rear bumper cover and driver side quarter panel repainted and it turned out PERFECT. I have no variation in color or flake at all. It took my body shop two times to get it right; however, the first time was a paint quality defect and had nothing to do with matching. A good shop should be able to do it just fine.

Man how I miss the ambient lighting from the door panels on the 45th. They would light up the whole panel and the inside of the car. Now with the ZL1 I can barely see a faint blue line on the panels at night. GM really nailed those white panels and the lighting.

I always thought the charcoal part of the stripes should have been silver. you lose the stripe at night, silver you would see.

45th Anniversary Door Projector Lights

I have been talking with AAC about making a set of Door Projector Lights with the 45th Anniversary Emblem as the design that is projected on the floor. The problem is the initial set up cost. If any of you fellow 45th owners would be interested in a set, please PM me. I think getting 10 will make this a reasonable price. We have to cover the "Set up fee" and "Vector File."

If you are unsure what these look like, the picture is of the projector lights they currently carry.

What were the differences between the 45th and any 1LT bought in 2012? Although my 1LT had the additional package with the 19'' wheels, rear camera, leather steering wheel etc.

"2012 marks both the 100th anniversary of the Chevrolet brand and the 45th anniversary of Camaro. The 45th Anniversary Special Edition, offered on the two top trim levels — 2LT and 2SS — and for both coupe and convertible styles, commemorates Camaro's lineage and its 21st Century revival.
The exterior signature of the 45th Anniversary Special Edition is its unique hood and decklid stripes in red and gray that contrast with the Carbon Flash Metallic paint, as well as badges located beneath the front fender emblems. Deep silver foglamp and taillamp bezels and 20-inch wheels(4) add to this edition’s powerful, high-end look. And the commemorative spirit continues in the interior with the 45th Anniversary logo on the Jet Black, leather-appointed seats, steering wheel and sill plates, and red, white and blue stitching on the seats, steering wheel, shift knob"

Plus...it is just plain COOL!!!! Bwahahaha
