Awesome car, I love that idle. Which way was the cam advanced for this application? Why does a car like this not have a steady idle (it sounds like a horse with staggered footfalls)?

It said a custom 4.1 gear set, are the 1st and 2nd gear "closer" together which is why he shifted so fast through those? Or is it because at low speeds the power of the engine can accelerate through the rpm range quicker?

I'm trying to self teach myself everything, not that I'd be able to do to an engine for years probably. Aside from a college, where could I learn the specifics on how to do something like this?

Also, since he has 515rwhp, the number would be larger if taken straight from the engine right? I know a lot of people like to state engine HP. For example my 2011 v6 is listed at 312, but the Dyno numbers are like 250? So if he were to actually compare his number to people who use engine hp, he should add ~15% correct? = ~75 in my head.

Thanks for the props masonwader, that idle is due to the longer than stock duration and increased overlap valve timing and is much desired, music to my ears kind of sound. The cam is installed at "0" since it's a custom cam and all the advance is done in the way it was ground.
With 4.10s the engine revs quicker so yes first and second gear come up fast. You can learn this from reading about it on the forums (not all you read is true though) but the best place to learn is to try things on your own car.
Yes, 515 RWHP is about 15% higher at the crank so roughly 592 BHP.
